The e-Kosovo issue [EN]

To the spannish readers: Sorry for the lack of Spanish, but I don't want to subject you to a butchered article from google translate...
---
The Balkans are stupid. Everybody knows it, and most of all the admins. After all they are from Romania so they know it first hand. And they are lucky enough the Balkans is a boiling pot of nationalism and imperialist-wannabes.
At first there were Serbia and Croatia (that were at war less than 20 years ago in real life) and Greece and Turkey (that are in a "cold war" since after WW1).
In the e-world, the Greece-Turkey war was getting a little bit deadlocked, so the admins thought: "Hey, let's throw those two dogs a bone" and they put e-Cyprus into the game. e-Cyprus was never supposed to be a real country. Instead it only had two regions (Southern and Northern) for the two countries to fight over. It should be noted however that Northern Cyprus IRL is under occupation by Turk Cypriots and not officially recognised by the UN, while Soutern Cyprus is a UN and EU state and predominately Greek Cypriot.
Then, as the military occupation and PTO struggles over Cyprus went on, they decided it is time to add some more crazy Balkan nationalists in the mix and added FY Republic of Macedonia, so that Greeks and Bulgarians would spend even more money in their ultranationalist frenzy, and for 'Macedons' to join the dance. And it worked in spades: if those three countries added the damage dealt in their wars, they could probably build an empire worthy of Alexander the Great and maybe even take their vengeance of the Romans
So, since both Cyprus and FYROM was such a hit, the admins thought that they could kill two birds with one stone, by adding Albania and Kosovo, so that Serbs and Albanians (and probably 'Macedons' too) can buy 'moar gold'.
But they made a huge foul. See, if eKosovo is independant, then there will be constant RW when Serbia conquers it (and Serbia will, trust me) but, at the same time, Kosovo is as much a country as and Palestine. Last time I checked the map, N. Cyprus was part of e-Cyprus and e-Palestine a grey area on the map. And the, also Autonomus, Basque country a region of e-Spain (at least originaly). Not to mention a certain United Kingdom of independant countries that is one ecountry, roight mates? You can probably notice the logic hole here, right? It is a little bigger than contemporary eSpain.
I'll be honest: Nationalists spending tons of money over a game is fun. But an independent eKosovo is promoting RL hate (don't forget there was a war in Kosovo 12 years ago), is a bad precedent and can prove to be gamebreaking for any eCountry that has independent regions. It is an obvious get-rich-quick scheme by the admins, that will probably lead to yet another deadlocked war, unless a group of players goes all INCI there.
So, for game's sake, let's just vote for a Serbian Kosovo, no matter the e-alliances and their games, just for the sake of the game.
PS: eAlbania is great by the way, it adds a lot of interest to the eBalkan region.

Nice article, but all the "regions" in Spain are autonomus.
You "won" the vote when you wrote that
"

Duke09, that's something I did not know. But I think the Basques are a bit more polemic about their autonomy/independence, right?

@Nihilio:
Autonomous and independent are different.
What you call "regions" in Spain have their parliament/taxes/etc, but some things are decided centrally. Consider it in a way like in USA (although for sure not the same thing).
Great article man! You said it all!
actually, greece and turkey had very good relations before WW2. after 22', things were bad ofc, but in 1930 venizelos signed a peace and friendship treaty with turkey with ismet inonou. greece also signed a sort of military alliance; in fact when greek forces were losing against the germans in WW2, many of the ones in thrace retreated into turkey. today, greece and turkey have multiple trade and economic ties, not to mention common NATO membership. the climate between the two countries changed with the dictatorship and the greek aggression in cyprus, and has been maintened (to the people, not on an official level) because it is an easy way to make people not protest about buying extremely expensive weapon systems when the country's finances are shit all.
btw Kosovo was declared independent IRL a couple of years ago, and has been recognized by almost all countries, except like greece and spain.
(Translation ..The "very good " Greek -Turkish relations before ww2 are including ,the 1897 Greek-Turkey war and 2 Balkan wars 1912-1913.)
Επίσης ,απότι "θυμάμαι" υπάρχει Turkish aggression and occupation in Cyprus και ένα ψευδοκράτος του Denktash (άντε πάλι αυτός μπροστά μου) και όχι Ελληνική επιθετικότητα.
Veni_Zelos don't speak with your a$$, minority of countries recognized Kosovo (USA arm twisting).
And people spending RL money on this BS of a game is plain idiocy.
I want autonomous republic of Sparta!
Veni_Zelos there is a minority of countries which recognizes kossovo as independent country
Veni_zelos, what you speak is American. The article states exactly that, in the international language called Bad English.
