That Ruddy Congress

That Ruddy Congress

Some Background Listening

Howdy, eUK. Resident monarch here, again trying to persuade you to vote me into congress.

This time however I face competition, as I am running in our populated capital, London.

In professional circles this is called a space filler

Ever wondered what congress does?

We have to choose all the crazy stuff like this!

But don't worry. A vote for me is a vote for sanity - I'm the guy who has been voting no all the time.

We also deal with all the rules that run our community, and knock skulls to try and create institutions that last and serve you, the Great British public.

We also get cool green usernames, and when we shout it floats in the "official" shout-box. All good stuff. Apart from the constant warnings of citizens fee not being able to support the next 500 citizens. That's not so good. (Disclaimer: nothing to worry about, we're just keeping our cash safe)

Election day is on the 25th, so around this time every month you will see a plethora of articles all explaining why you should elect people. However this platform is going to stray from the norm; I'm not going to spend too much time on myself and why you should vote me. Instead I'm going to talk about how next I month I could be voting you.

You may be asking what makes me, Mr Woldy, different from you, Mr Richards. Well, your average Mr Richards doesn't use the forums. He isn't enlightened, hasn't indulged in our vibrant community and hasn't unlocked his potential. Whereas the average Mr Woldy did use the forums. He even got adventurous and got onto IRC. He joined a party forum, got involved, and became a key part of the eUK's community. He was even made country president 4 times.

The moral to this short summary is don't be a Dick, be a Woldy, and use the forums.

The forums are the centre of the eUK, it's really where everything happens. Maybe this game doesn't seem so great right now. I feel that way too sometimes. However, I've stuck around for so long because the gaming community the eUK offers is as good as any out their on the internet.

If you want to proceed, and give erep the chance it (arguably) deserves then you should really get involved in the community this game offers, and step one of doing so is using the forums.

You may now be a simple employee, but you could easily, by joining the forums, or using IRC, become an exceptional eCitizen. Everyone has to start somewhere, so don't feel shy. Just swing by and become a regular user - see how far that gets you. In fact,if you become a regular poster and an active party member, I could almost guarantee that next month you could get into congress. That's my only ambiguous election promise this month.

I have spent many months in Congress, countless months in our cabinet, as MoHA, MoFA, MoW and as President. I was elected SG of the Phoenix alliance a number of months ago and was just recently elected as DIFA for the same alliance. (That's sort of like an international MoFA)

I got the MJ experience as a boy

Last month I was made king, a jobless title but perhaps one of the more fun 'jobs' I have taken on. Why? because it's something our community has created as a figurehead role, and something that is very much community orientated. Monarch week, a week of games with prizes to be won will soon be commencing, and I got a say in some of the fun we'll be generating there.

But had I not have signed up to the forums one cold february, would I have gotten this far?

I almost certainly wouldn't. So, if you read this and take just one thing away with you, it should be that to get the best out of eRepublik you have to tap into the community - something that is easily done by using the forums.

P.S ~ Vote me for London on the 25th, for great justice and other such greatly justified things.

Thanks for reading.

I'll be in London. Come vote me
