Spotlight on the USWP

Day 1,992, 11:56 Published in USA USA by Clint Carmel

There are many parties in the United States. By my estimate, we have 56 more political parties than Saudi Arabia. Some come and go, and some are here to stay. Having previously done articles on WTP, FED, and AFA, today's spotlight is on the United States Workers Party, the USWP.

According to their own page: "the USWP is America's oldest and most successful party. Electing some of the most respected and renowned Presidents and Congressmen in eUS history, the USWP is the backbone of our nation. Join us, and then join the conversation on our forum: http://tinyurl.com/USWPForum and in IRC (#uswpchat)."

I went and had a look. The IRC channel #USWPchat is always a warm and cozy place. Not as active as some channels, not as quiet as others, it has a happy medium for those looking for a serene and pleasant time. It is very supportive.

Currently, the USWP has 585 members, and the party president is Rainy Sunday. Rainy plugged me on day 1907 of the newspaper Sunday's Paper.
Othere is the Vice President, and Mercurius100 is Secretary General. Mercurius himself is former Party President of the Progressive Party.

Othere heavily promotes the USWP food program, 'Brains for Zombies.' This program is open to all people; I tested it out and a guy named Wild Owl sent me some grub. Owl works for the DoE and I expect he will go far with the USWP.

Othere is one of the fairest people you will meet in eRepublik.

If you missed last week's WHPR interview with Othere, here is a snippet of our interview:

Clint: You've been everywhere from New Zealand to the UK, in game. What attracted you to the eUSA? How does it compare to other countries, so far as having programs like the DOI?

Othere: I joined the game with a friend I played with elsewhere. He knew players in the eUK, and I followed him. After a year of so in the eUK, eNew Zealand was created. I wanted to have a chance at being in the first generation of eKiwis. Unfortunately, the eastern Europeans gained a foothold in eNZ and I shortly thereafter moved back to the eUK. When the eUK and eUSA became allies for a short time in Terra, I obtained eUSA citizenship for the bonuses, and to obtain membership in UM. Been here, mostly two-clicking, ever since. Many other countries have programs similar to the eUS, but I haven't been a part of any other eSociety in a long enough time to comment on that.

Of course, the USWP has many other fine people.
It has Gnilraps, one of the heavy hitters behind the EZC, Easy Company.
He recently left the Feds and joined the USWP.

It has Ligtreb, perhaps the friendliest person in all of eRepublik. He actually beat Merc100 in greeting me when I joined. I find these credentials amazing: Current: 25-term Congressman. Former: USA Vice President, USWP Party President, Speaker of the House, Secretary of the Interior, Welcoming Committee director.

It has Vanek26, the current ePresident of the United States. Vanek has done more to get me True Patriot medals than any living CP, and he has a very good cabinet filled with people from all parties. It has been a good two terms.

I could go all day listing the fine people in it. If you are a USWP member and you weren't mentioned, I apologize. Beyond a certain word count, people stop reading. If you'd like a one-on-one interview, feel free to PM me and/or leave a comment to that effect. I am fair to all.

More importantly than the fact that it has fielded the president of the last 60 days, --and this next fact inspired this article--, the USWP is going to have the president for the next 30 or 60 (or more) days. Be it Tenshibo or Artela, the USWP is going to have the next president.

I have spoken to Artela on the eNPR show and she seems very capable. I have called in to eNPR about once a month since I've been here, and it's always a fun show.

I actually was just reading Tenshibo's newspaper, and he seems like a good guy who has done a great deal for the eUSA on the world stage. If he consents to it, I will do an interview with him in a future edition.

Anyway, USWP has a fine pedigree of former and current presidents:
Artela - April, May 2012
Henry Pfeiffer Arundel - October 2012
Inwegen - December 2012
Vanek26 - March, April 2013

As usual with these articles, I throw up a question to you. If you're in the USWP, why do you like it? If not, why not? How do you feel it has helped and/or hurt the eUSA?
