Join the new world

Remember me? I've been busier than usual and my media and public presence has been lackluster lately. I'm still around in congress, but I'm sure you all know that its where old ideas go to die and new ideas rarely arise. I just thought I'd stop by and give some of my opinion on things, like elections and whatnot. I would talk about foreign affairs, but there isn't much to talk about. We're in Sirius, we were working towards it for a while, and we're not going anywhere else anytime soon. Despite new presidents and new ideas, foreign affairs usually has a trajectory over several terms and presidencies that is passed towards the next term. Wild Owl has done great during his presidency, and America is in an alliance that best fits its interests.

So let's talk about elections. I would discuss congressionals, but we're already a few days out from those and Pfeiffer has already summed them up quite well. The main thing of interest that he pointed out as well was LAP's congressional delegation filled with old economic council members. Whether this leads to LAP gaining prominence is unknown, but its certainly better than struggling to find newer players to jump in. He's also correct that this congress is certainly older than the previous one, so we might see more discussion this term. Of the people who won, I certainly have an eye on a few of the newcomers. A person of particular note is David Wilson. He's a former AMP Party President and Congressman who recently arose to serve in several government positions, and has been tapped by Gnilraps to be his potential Secretary of Defense. Being Frank Underwood doesn't hurt either. I'll be around again this term to watch things and chime in when important matters arise.

So now we move onto the bigger fish, the presidential election. We have two people who announced early, Tyler and Gnilraps, and now another challenger in the form of Aramec. All three served under me during my presidency, so I'm remaining officially neutral, but all have the potential to become the next President of the United States in March. Gnilraps is certainly philosophical and visionary, Tyler has a dose of fun and adaption mixed in with experience, and Aramec promises to be real with you. All three state that new players and community are going to be a key focuses their administration, since foreign affairs is more static this time around. I will be honest, and not to go against Gnilraps attacking cynicism, I admit myself that I am a bit unsure of how successful this will be. It is often true that foreign intrigue and military campaigns take away from domestic concerns a lot in this game, but perhaps with new focus and fresh blood a heightened concern for the community can change this. I will certainly be engaged in watching this campaign, and I encourage you all to do the same.

I'll end this going on a different route: I like writing. However, in my older age I am finding fewer things to discuss or talk about. So here's what I ask of you: If you have something that you want brought up or highlighted, let me know, in-game message or through comments. I have a lot more time on my hands and I'd like to push forward with the last goal of the game, a media mogul (I'm shameless enough to admit it). I'd like to explore new topics, debate some issues, and maybe do some interviews again. Help me return to my roots during my retirement.
