Reminiscing: Iasov

"A long, long time ago
I can still remember how that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while"

Hi kids!

Damn nostalgia. I really don't understand myself sometimes. Why do I reminisce about crap that happened in a browser game years ago, decades by game time*. Probably just sentimentalism because I'm an old fart in real life.

*Supposedly one month equals one year in eRep. I have no idea who came up with that.

Iasov

One of the first leaders in the game that influenced what I eventually became as "Thedillpickl". There were many others that laid a trowel to the mortar but he was the first that really set a tone. My inaugural term in Congress I had many good advisers from UIP. The most prominent instruction was "Keep your mouth shut and learn.". Of course that was the first thing I didn't do. ^__^ A couple of the old timers jumped my ass and told me that "No one's interested in what a noob has to say.". If I'm remembering correctly, Evry, Pealswine and chesehead were my personal greeters. For some reason Iasov thought it would be funny to feed me information that would infuriate some Congressmen. lol

If you want to see what spurred all of this, here's an article I ran across. It was Iasov's last article before being permabanned. First thought is 'eRep... still the same' but then I thought 'Damn, it was a lot more interesting back then'. Eh, maybe I was just young and naive, everything looked bigger and better.

Anyhow, if you like, just skim the article as it is a bit long, then be sure to look at the comments. I noticed that there are no votes for the comments, nor were there any replies to them. That was before the admins added those 'features'. Some of those names... Clair, Candor, The Libertine (Croy), Paul Proteus (he's still around), Jelly (I miss him), Joe DaSmoe getting smart mouthed. Oh, some punk kid called dillpickl writes a comment too.
