Dear America,

I'm Oblige and I'm running for President of these eUnited States of America.

In this first article of my candidacy I'd like to share with you two things: the first is who I am, the second is why you should vote for me.

Those of you reading this whom are members of our Armed Forces, Congress, Federalist Party, part of the current Administration, or a foreign ally of the eUSA probably already know me.

For those of you that don't, feel free to toss me a line in any of the 40+ American IRC rooms I'm usually idling in with any questions you have. I'm only on IRC for 16 hours a day, so sometimes I can be tough to find, such as when I'm sleeping.

In terms of a resume: I'm a two term SG of TERRA, four term Secretary of State, two term Deputy Speaker of the House, two term Senator and SCI Member, Federalist Party Leadership, four term NSC Member and a Major in the Special Forces. I've also been Secretary of Defense and a litany of other things, such as a long-term eNPR host.

The most important thing you need to know about me, America, is that I believe in the great potential of our nation, that united we are stronger, and that in my administration everyone will have a place at the table.



So, that's who I am, this is why you should vote for me:

In a game where increased activity translates into winning more battles, you need to elect an administration who will not only remain active every day but one who will lead the Nation towards greater activity.

I am the only candidate who will do this.



Leadership in eRepublik is a commitment; because this is a social strategy game, it never sleeps. I have committed myself to reading the pulse of this nation for many months now, and it has earned me the reputation as one of the most active players in the eUSA.

The first thing this means is that I know first-hand what is going on. I know international politics. I know domestic affairs. I know military strategy. I know our enemies and I know our allies. I know my way around our economy, our media, our political parties, and just about every corner of IRC. The first benefit to you as a citizen is when you elect me as President, you elect a knowledgeable leader at the top of his game.

The second advantage is that I also know who else is highly active. I will call into service those eRep players (both young and old) who deserve to lead this nation because they are active and expert. Nothing is worse for eUSA than a quiet White House. And nothing is better for us than a busy one. I will announce my cabinet in the coming days, but here's a teaser: my Vice President is none other than Rainy Sunday.

I'm not proposing that high activity alone makes for a good President. In the coming articles I will lay out for you actual, substantive, Military goals, Economic goals, Media goals, and specific plans I have to lead this country. The fact that our people will be active is only one qualification among many.



So, America, thank you for taking the time to read this announcement; the manifesto will come later. I ask now for your support as I run this campaign. Shouts, votes, subscriptions are all appreciated, and when it comes time to vote consider this: America is a car, we're all in it together and the President is driving - who do you want behind the wheel?



In my next article I will describe with greater detail how I intend for us to address our situation on the warfront. Don't expect me to reveal anything that will tip off the enemy, but I want you to know in broad strokes what to expect in the coming weeks.
