Nature's Disinfectant

Day 2,496, 03:06 Published in Canada Canada by Muglack

There's an old adage that Light is nature's disinfectant. The idea is that the things that grow and fester in the dark quickly dry out and die when dragged into the light of day. This is a concept that I have long supported and have adhered to tightly while I've played this game.

As most of the long time players that have been involved in eCanadian politics for as long as I have been can attest I have an incredibly annoying habit of handling my business in "the streets".

I don't believe in background deals. I don't support covert alliances and deals that do everything they can to slide under the radar, and take advantage of people that would do everything in their power to stop whatever is happening if they knew the whole truth.

I walked the path of darkness once, and we did it better than anyone. But the losses in the long term by far outweighed the profits in the short (at least for most people), and those days for me are past.

Does my style of politics hurt me? Maybe. I know I'll never be able to put my hand up on the 26th of a month and ask the power cabal that pulls the strings of the top party if I can have a CP medal handed to me on the 5th, but if that's what I wanted out of this game I'd be playing for the wrong reason.

As we all know there's a few players in this game who can directly influence and effect the general level of activity and interest in our community.

It goes without saying that when Rylde shakes off the cobwebs and comes out swinging the price of tanks, food and BH medals tends to go up. He is a catalyst for military action in the country.

Crisfire doesn't do much( 😛 ), but when he puts his weight behind a project like the Praetors and gets the support he needs the number of low level players tends to go up. His ability to keep and grow the "youth" of this Country is unmatched by anyone else I've met.

Klop's ability to build and maintain relationships with other eCountries, Shoi's ability to "expand our knowledge base" of other eCountries, Plugson's mastery and control of the media module, and Rolo's ability to unite the country behind a common cause (normally hating him).

These are all players who's abilities and skills in certain areas force the rest of us, to pick up our games.

My arena is politics, and it's time to raise the bar.

I have decided to give eCanadian politics a shot in the arm. I've found a like minded player (/wave DMV), and we're going to do everything we can to get the Political Module rolling again.

So consider this article your warning that if you aren't willing to pick up your game, you better be ready to get out of our way.

And because I like to do my business in the street, I've left it here ---- In the light.
