De reacties op onder meer mijn vorige artikel hebben wel bevestigd dat er een hardnekkig denken is in termen van ‘de tegenpartij’. Voor mij bestaat die niet, net zo min als een vastgeroest congres, of een partij die alleen maar uit is op eigenbelang. Of je het nu wel of niet eens bent met iemands mening, houding of acties, het gaat ten koste van ons land als we niet in staat zijn dit los te zien van politieke partij of positie.

Vijanden maken we makkelijk genoeg, maar hoe zit het met vriendschappen? Ik heb als EDEN PR organisor veel nieuwe vrienden gemaakt in landen waar ik daarvoor niemand kende. Ik heb gezien hoeveel verschil er is tussen culturen, spelers en wat voor hun het spel maakt. Ik heb zelfs vriendschappen gezien tussen ‘officiële’ vijanden. Wat regeringen en allianties ook afspreken, de spelers bepalen met welke landen en spelers ze een band hebben. En daar ligt ook onze toekomst: wij moeten op zoek naar onze natuurlijke vrienden. En hierin moeten allereerst alle ministeries samenwerken.



Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken
In de afgelopen tijd is vooral hard gewerkt aan het regelen van voldoende MPP’s. Lastig genoeg, omdat budgetten overal onder druk staan en mpp’s met de kleintjes al snel afvallen. Extra reden om onze ‘natuurlijke bondgenoten’ op te zoeken, zeker als EDEN uit elkaar valt. Landen in een vergelijkbare situatie, met dezelfde vijanden of waar we al een band mee hebben. Ik zie voor deze termijn een cruciale rol voor MoFa om deze banden aan te halen. En wie weet een basis te leggen voor een nieuwe alliantie die gebaseerd is op ‘natuurlijke vriendschap’.

Onze ambassadeurs, belangrijker dan ooit!
Op dit moment zijn het alleen de fanatieke forumbezoekers die af en toe de berichten van onze ambassadeurs lezen: over nieuwe regeringen, en dat is het meestal wel. Ik daag alle ambassadeurs uit om met enige regelmaat het nieuws te brengen dat van belang is voor de band tussen onze beide landen. Ingame, via korte artikelen met links naar de belangrijkste artikelen daar. Hoe zit het met hun regio’s, waarom hebben ze onze steun nodig of hoe hebben we hun geholpen? Ik heb binnen het EDEN PR team gezien dat het kan, en hoe dit wordt gewaardeerd.

Ministerie van Defensie
Vanzelfsprekend hebben we de laatste maanden EDEN orders gevolgd. Waar de situatie in EDEN nu ook op uitdraait, het is tijd om nu onze aandacht te richten op onze natuurlijke bondgenoten. De veelbelovende joint strikes met Ierland hebben laten zien wat dit doet voor de spirit aan beide zijden. Maar alles staat of valt met goede coördinatie(al dan niet via IRC), actieve pm threads met alle MU leiders en artikelen ingame. Veel artikelen liefst, met battle orders en mogelijk zelfs met een add-on, die op de homepage de actuele non-mpp prio laat zien.

Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken
Op dit ministerie ligt het accent voornamelijk op SCI: het beoordelen van aanvragen voor burgerschap. Ik wil hier een pro-actieve aanpak zien. Laten we op een rij zetten waar wij in eNL voor staan, wat we nieuwkomers te bieden hebben en wat we van ze verwachten. En laten we proberen dat zo aantrekkelijk te maken dat we de spelers uit de landen die wij ‘natuurlijke bondgenoten’ noemen kunnen overtuigen om onze community te komen versterken. Laten we in elk geval een welcome-pack maken, ook voor nieuwe spelers die geboren worden in eNederland.

Ministerie van Coaching
Ook op dit ministerie kan veel meer aandacht uitgaan naar vriend en vijand. Battles met en voor onze bondgenoten, inzicht in de wereldkaart en welke vlekken we willen aanpakken. Via samenwerking met captains van de actieve MU’s kan er vanuit het ministerie veel meer worden uitgelegd over de internationale battles waarin we vechten. Hier zou een standaard pakket met uitleg heel welkom zijn, met tips en advies: zoals uitleg over game mechanics, inkomen genereren uit trainen en medailles, werken in een commune en wie onze bondgenoten zijn.

Ministerie van Financiën
Dit ministerie doet onder de huidige omstandigheden uitstekend werk. Maar zonder belastinginkomsten, en dus zonder geld voor wapens en mpp’s, houdt het snel op. Waar we behoefte aan hebben is een goede samenwerking met spelers en landen die onze communes laten profiteren van hun productiebonussen. Een slimme mpp-coordinatie met bondgenoten zodat de gewone speler niet steeds hoeft te verhuizen om zijn DO te halen. En een actief sponsorbeleid gericht op ‘oude’ spelers voor speciale activiteiten als joint strikes en extra mpp’s. Zoals het uitstekende voorbeeld van Operation Gold Rush, dat onze Staat 110 goud opleverde.

Ministerie van Informatie
In de afgelopen maanden hebben we een positieve constante gehad in onze media, ik wil even de naam noemen van Djirtsdew, die naast zijn eigen artikelen ook op de achtergrond meehelpt met de artikelen van andere ministeries. Kun je schrijven, kun je vertalen? Dit ministerie, maar ook de andere ministeries, kan jouw hulp goed gebruiken!

Ministerie van Recruitment
Misschien wel het lastigste ministerie, maar ook hier zie ik een toekomst in samenwerking met andere landen. In EDEN heb ik mooie voorbeelden gezien van landen die serieuze babybooms wisten te realiseren. Ook kleinere landen - en deze contacten houd ik uiteraard warm voor degene die zich hier voor wil inzetten.

Deze ideeën komen niet uit de lucht vallen. Ik heb in andere landen gezien dat het kan en dat het werkt. Maar ik ken de weerbarstige praktijk in eNederland en ik presenteer dit niet als campagnebelofte - maar als oproep. Aan iedereen die zich niet blindstaart op de ‘natural enemies’ in het politieke landschap, maar bereid is open te staan voor nieuwe vriendschappen, in binnen- en buitenland. Ik heb me altijd, in al mijn regeringsfuncties, ingezet voor iedere speler uit elke partij. Ik heb geen interesse in vijanden en ik wil niets anders dan eNederland weer een nieuwe spirit geven.

Als jullie op mij stemmen, laat het dan niet zijn omdat je mij als vriend beschouwt. Maar omdat je het weer leuk wil maken - voor iedereen.

Natural enemies? Natural allies!

The reactions to among others my last article very much confirmed there is still a deep-rooted thinking in terms of ‘the others’. For me such a thing does not exist, as there is no Congress clinging on to power, nor any party being in it solely for their own good. Whether you agree or disagree with someones opinion, attitude or actions, it is only costing our country if we are not able to separate this from political party or position.

Making enemies is easy enough, but how about friendships? As EDEN PR organisor I made many new friends in countries I knew nobody before. I have seen how much difference there is between countries, players and what makes the game to them. I even saw friendships between ‘official’ enemies. Whatever governments and alliances agree on, the players decide with which countries and players they feel a bond. And there lies our future: looking for our natural friends. First of all meaning that all of our ministries should cooperate on this.



Ministry of Foreign Affairs
In the recent past there was mainly the job to arrange enough MPP’s. Hard enough as it is, as budgets are under pressure everywhere and MPP’s with little ones easily are declined. Extra reason to look for ‘natural allies’, especially if EDEN is to break up. Countries in comparable situations, with shared enemies or with whom we already feel a bond. For this term I see a crucial role for MoFa to tighten these bonds. And who knows start building on a new alliance based on ‘natural friendship’.

Our ambassadors, more important than ever!
At the moment only the hardcore forumvisitors read up occasionally on the posts by our ambassadors: about new administrations and that is pretty much it. I challenge all ambassadors to bring us more regular news that could contribute to the bond between both our countries. Ingame, through short articles with links to the most important articles overthere. What’s up with their regions, why do they need our support and how may we have helped them? Within the EDEN PR team I have seen how this can work, and how much it is appreciated.

Ministry of Defense
Naturally, we have been following EDEN orders until now. However the situation in EDEN turns out, it is time we focus our attention on our natural allies. The promising joint strikes with Ireland have shown what this does to the spirit on both sides. But the success depends on good coordination (whether or not on IRC), active pm threads with all MU leaders and ingame articles. Preferably many articles, with battle orders and possibly even with an add-on, showing the actual non-mpp prio ingame.

Ministry of Home Affairs
For this ministry the accent mainly lies on SCI: judging applications for citizenship. I want to see a pro-active approach here. Let’s make a presentation of the things we stand for in eNL, what we have to offer to newcomers and what we expect of them. And let’s try to make this so attractive we can convince players from the countries we consider ‘natural allies’ to come over and reinforce our community. Let’s work on a welcome-pack anyway, also for new players who are e-born in the eNetherlands.

Ministry of Coaching
In this ministry too there could be much more focus on allies and enemies. Battles with and for our allies, insight in the worldmap and the stains we want to clean up. Through cooperation with captains of the active MU’s the ministry could explain much more about international battles we are engaged in. Here too, a standard package with explanation would be very welcome, with tips and advice: about for instance game mechanics, generating income through training and medals, working in a commune and who our allies are.

Ministry of Finance
This ministry does excellent work under the given conditions. But without tax income, and thus without weapons and mpp’s, we are done pretty soon. What we need is a good cooperation with players and countries who are willing to have our communes benefit from their production bonuses. A smart mpp-coordination with allies in order for the common player to not have to move around all the time for the DO. As well as an active sponsor programme aimed at ‘older’ players for special activities like joint strikes and extra mpp’s. Like the excellent example of Operation Gold Rush that brought in 110 gold for the State.

Ministry of Information
In the past months we had a positive constant factor in our media, I would like to name Djirtsdew, who besides his own articles, also helps out with the articles from other ministries. Can you write, can you translate? This ministry, as well as the other ministries, could use your assistance well!

Ministry of Recruitment
Maybe the toughest ministry, but here too I see a future in the cooperation with other countries. In EDEN I have seen great examples of countries who managed to make a serious babyboom happen. Also smaller countries - and I will keep these contacts warm for who wants to put in serious efforts in this area.

These ideas didn’t just fall from the sky. I have seen how these things are possible and do work for other countries. But I know how tough practice can be in the eNetherlands and I am not presenting this as a campaign promise - but as a call on all. All who can see beyond their ‘natural enemies’ in the political landscape, who are willing to open up for new friendships, in our own country and abroad. I have always, in any of my government positions, put in my efforts for every player from any party. I am not interested in enemies and I do not want anything other than to bring a new spirit to the eNetherlands.

If you vote for me, let it be not because you consider me a friend. But because you want to bring back the fun - for everyone.
