Levels 1-20 = missed opportunites
Death and Taxes
The problem with this game appears to be a lack of a simple run-through (other then the official one) that allows a new player to look at all their options over the first 20 levels.
Unlike MMO's - the first 20 levels in my opinion are critical in getting your strategy right. So the numerous noob errors that you, and I, make over this critical period will either set you up, or hamstring you, potentially to the point that you will stop playing the game.
That isn't good for anyone, including the creators and owners.

There's not really a lot of options open to you. There used to exist separate work and military skills so you had to decide early on which way you wanted to go; that is gone now.
Well Dryden, thanks for dropping by, glad to see you are not as critical and satirical as your antecedents. I would have thought that the choice was between burning all your resources by concentrating on strength and armaments in order to conduct wars, or else creating a strong economic platform by way of practical business decisions.

Well making mistakes is natural early on and is a good thing in a way because it's a good way of learning.
But there surely needs to be more newbie support so that mistakes of a critical nature are avoided. If someone makes a series of awful errors he/she will probably be put off the game for good.

What do you mean by my antecedents?
Well... hows about passing on what you all have learned in this thred?
Agreed, for a noob like myself it does lose some of the lustre after the first week or so, will stick with it but could see how a lot of noobs are put of and give up. Also some advice clearly laid out would help a lot.
