Legal Issues - Tournament Canceled

Day 2,526, 05:46 Published in Norway Sweden by noenting

The long announced Epic Warfare Tournament has been canceled due to legal issues.

In an official statement one of the organizers stated "We have all been very excited for this tournament to get started. It would have been something like the Olympics - something epic. However, very recently one of our own attorneys found out that the tournament style would violate our own Terms and Conditions. As we hate changing the rules during tournaments, the only option was to postpone the entire tournament. We will now focus on fixing the overproduction issue and once that is resolved we will have a plan for the new tournament."

This announcement comes as a shock to many people who planned participating in this event. Some people already traveled far distances to organize Resistance Wars in the correct places at the correct time.
"My friends and me have been planning to liberate China within a few days." says a citizen who wishes to remains anonymous "This would have been epic and I am sure I would have won many Battle Hero medals. I am disappointed - somewhat angry. I postponed my vacation to Brazil to be able to participate and now this tournament possibly takes place when I am on vacation. That is frustrating"

A Norwegian congress member states "Our government has been planning the correct strategy to give us a huge defense shield. Now all of this hard work is void. Seriously, we have been discussing strategies until the late night to ensure best chances for success. I must say, I am disappointed. On the other hand, I really credit the organizers for discovering these issues now, rather than to change the rules of the tournament while it is already up and running."

We contacted Åke S. from the Norwegian Institute for Foreign Politics to hear his opinion "This sure is kind of a letdown. Everybody has been excited for so long and now it is just canceled. This will have a huge impact on global warfare. People have been saving weapons for rather long and now they have to get rid of them. I am sure we will see new wars emerging next week, even if the tournament is to be canceled."

This is a clear step towards improvement since the rules are no longer changed in the progressing event but before it actually started.
