Kei for Congress! (The Manifesto)

Day 702, 19:32 Published in Japan Japan by Myung Kei

Me contemplating a new title for this article....because apparently (insert name here) for Congress! is quite common.

Goodday fellow eJapanese citizens, to those who do not know me and have not had the polite formality of meeting myself from an earlier date, I am Myung Kei. And to those who do already know something about me, Hi! Stay a while and see what this Manifesto has in store!

Over the past 2 months that I have lived and worked in the region of eJapan-eSouth Korea; I have served in a few lines of public duty, including but not limited to:

-MoFA of ex-Chancellor Spades South Korean Government
-Official eJapanese Ambassador to eIndia
-Being an active and contributing member of the eJapanese Forums and IRC accounts

But, as the title suggests I am ready to attempt to take on a new role in the line of duty to the service of the eJapanese people and the electorate:
I will run for the eDiet in the region of Tohoku under the United Lolies of eJapan.
I want to run for several reasons, most notably because I want to make a difference in the world of eJapan. As the shining light in the days of our eyouth said "the future is in your hands".

And now, I shall presume with the original procedure as to why I would make a good candidate to serve in the eDiet.

===Campaign Promises===

I don't have any, to place it in the most obscure yet normal fasion.

"But Myung, isn't that something you are supposed to promise your constituents?"

Not nessecarily, my view on campaign promises is that congress and the electorate are built on trust in one another. The electorate vote in congressman that they feel will best suit there interests and best fulfill the promises that they make, including ones that are submitted in a formal campaign. Promises such as "rasing population of region X ammount of people", "cutting taxes by X %" or "posting articles every 5 seconds upon being elected" are fine and good, but there is such a large margin of error to break these promises. If a candidate does not live up to the promises of such magnitude than the impression on the electorate is one of deciept and betrayal. As such I cannot promise anything out of the eDiet that I cannot guarentee.

However, one thing I can promise:

What I believe in

"Full of ideas and stances ready to be in the eDiet, sadly also awaiting the day that eHotels will become a part of the economic module 🙁"

Activity-

We need alot more of it. The current rate of active decline in the eDiet is blatently obvious, the most recent vote in the eDiet passed by an 8-4 margin, coming to a whopping grand total of 12 votes out of a potential 40. While I agree that RL events are not in the total control of the ecyberworld, the state of steady decline for motions such as important as the ones flowing through the forums is shocking. I am a strong supporter of campagins to increase activity to not only the eDiet, but to the general population at large.
Most notably, some brilliant and active ideas for solving such a problem seem to steam from the minds of those from parties such as the SoS Brigade. Ideas such as the "Thirteen Days of Halloween" and other positive incentives are things that eJapan needs to continue to grow and prosper as a fun loving-easy going population that is active on the IRC and the eDiet.

No pointless Strawmen-

There is a fine line between polite civil discussion, general debate and disagreement, and outright flaming and motive questioning....that occures within the eDiet discussions. Most notably, once the strawmen start flying up the entire discussion falls apart and blood boils in the hearts and minds of our congressman. The lengths that some officials in the eDiet will go to prove their point is absolutely horrifying in present terms and should have no place in the halls of congress. However, the arguments will continue and as such the strawmen will be pulled up, but this is one thing that I cannot and will not support just to try to prove a point if elected.

A Observant eDiet-

In the terms of an "Observant eDiet", I define that as a place where the will of the people and the power of the law collide in a manner in which proposals are brought forth, critiqued, and given due time to debate in practice. While it is admitable that we cannot debate over one proposal per month, there are some paths that should not be traveled. The eDiet cannot be the grounds for people to use the chambers in such a way to fulfill campaign promises by slapping down legislation with little content or wording, rush it thorough the eDiet, and expect everyone to be fine and dandy with the results.
If elected, my primary goal for myself is to review each bill that comes through the eDiet with an open mind, judge the substance - not the cover, and make my decision and vote/debate accordingly.

More Q5 Hospitals-

Presently, a population roughly the size of Hokkiado is without adaquate Hospital coverage in eJapan. As long as those same people are not holding the ability to use the maximum ammount of efficiency by fighting and then healing at the hospital, the populations and the regions have a sharp drop off in value. The same applies to Tohoku, which has a measly Q1 hospital....and many of the Korean regions, in which the highest hospital is a Q3 hospital. It does not matter how the funding is produced, whether supplied by the goverment of eJapan or through private donations, eJapan needs more Q5 Hospitals to encourage further growth outside of Kyushu, Kanto, and Hokkiado. I will support such legislation to encourage the activity and usage of more eJapanese regions.

Active Military-

Not much to explain here, the present military capacity that we hold, along with management by Minister Kita Ikki is highly phonomenal for a country our size. If the army is in need of further funds to expand or to keep the capacity size it has now, then my vote will be cast in favor of such legislation.
Other than that, I encourage more "home grown tanks" and funds set aside for times in which we would require tanks for the defense of eJapan.

Fun-

Who would want less fun? More Culture Events, and ideas circulating under Minister Ember are exactly what we need. Who wouldn't want to have a little more 'out of the box' fun? That makes the game all the more special to those who play it.
