Journey to South America - experiences and questions to be answered

Day 1,512, 11:57 Published in Ireland Ireland by Death and Taxes

Greetings.

One in a series of posts where I convincingly act like a complete noob and thereby ask the questions that all of you want an answer to, but don't have the balls to ask. Let me be clear, there is no question dumb and stupid enough that I won't ask on your behalf - send me a personal message.

So. This one is about missions, because missions are important, they are an easy way to get bonuses like XP's, strength (and therefore gold), energy bars and weaponry.

The one that brought be to South America are missions 21-23 about finding El Dorado. You can read up about these and others on the Wikipage here:

Mission List for eRepublik

The three missions combined require in order:

Train 3 times
Have 10 weapons in your inventory (about 60 IEP)
Have 100 IEP in your account (assumes you're based in Ireland)

Be located in South America (100 IEP there and 100 IEP back)
Have 2 friends join you (you do have friends don't you?)
Invite friends here
Have 100 currency in your current location (meaning you'll need to get a job there)

Have 1 gold in your account
Defeat enemies in three different battles in South America's original regions
Defeat 30 enemies

So for all of the above, all of which can be completed with relative ease, you get the following reward in totality:

6XP
+90 strength
1 energy bar

The critical element here in my opinion is the strength issue, Super Soldier gets you 5 gold every time you rack up 250 strength, in addition to the actual benefit in combat itself. So these three missions contribute 35% towards this, nothing to be sniffed at.

Oh! The questions? Let me start as follows then (looking imploringly as the eIreland greybeards to assist here)...

Why have moving tickets no longer necessary? How does one acquire and sell them? Are they better value than just using the eRepublik default option?

I translocated into Argentina. The first thing I looked for was a job, the value of the jobs on offer was about 378 of the local currency. So I joined the tier 6 (I think) factory and was befriended by the owner.

Why then was I continually booted out of this factory and others I joined? I'd join one without any issues, but when I came back 10 minutes later I was out again. I don't think this was done by the owners, I think it was a game mechanism. Furthermore when I did join a factory on wage day, I was only given about 75% of the salary, what is the reasoning behind this?

Considering the generous salaries available in Argentina, and the reasonable costs of the produce, is it part of the eRepublik economics to journey to other destinations and work there for a few months, before returning to rip-off countries (not pointing fingers) and make a fortune on the profit involved?

Next up, WTF is Croatia doing in South America and Mexico? Is this just for resources or is there some strange alliance going on that I'm not currently aware of?

Answers on a postcard please?
