Japan successfully shafts China and India (USA)

It will be hard for me to stay objective today, I apologize. Today’s article is dedicated to all those moralizing citizens of the USA and Allies who either fought against their country, did not fight, or even worse, fought for Japan. I am going to explain in excruciating detail just how badly you have screwed two innocent countries.


SUMMARY

A massive Hungarian airlift in the closing hours of the Battle of Kyushu rushed hundreds of Phoenix soldiers to the front, resulting in a narrow victory against invading EDEN forces, with the overtime line set a few thousand points above the border regions after a glitch in the combat engines battle calculations failed to account for the move into an overtime battle. In China, Chinese forces are wrapping up the blocking attacks they had initiated against the Indonesian occupation zone. These attacks had been launched in anticipation of the arrival of US forces, but now will have done little but to annoy Indonesia. India meanwhile, is preparing to declare War on Iran, an action undertaken due to an Iranian PTO attempt and the anticipation of the arrival of EDEN forces in Asia. As of now, with the Phoenix victory in Japan, both China and India are in grave danger. EDEN must now assume a burdensome defensive responsibility with little hope of resolving the situation in the near term.


JAPAN

The Battle of Kyushu was close. In fact, it was so close the Allies would have won had they just had two more tanking players, or an extra military squad. There has been talk that the deployment of SEAL Team 6 to Iran was the mistake that brought the US just short of the goal line, but unfortunately this is not the case. As we know from countless articles, forum posts, advertisements and shouts, numerous American citizens refused to get informed about the situation and assumed the war was a naked act of aggression. This of course was not a problem isolated to the USA, since the early battle hero for Japan was a Swede. The wasted or traitorous damage would have been the last bit of force EDEN would have needed to gain Kyushu and open the door to Asia. Even more amusing, I noticed several tanks from the Sol Alliance fighting for Japan. Apparently their fellow Allies in China are not worthy of their respect or assistance either. In short, Phoenix was able to spin this perfectly for the uninformed and the morally delusional. They bought it hook line and sinker. And that is all I can really politely say about the Battle of Kyushu. As for Japan itself, nothing more need be said. Their neutrality is an unholy shield that exists to insure their neighbors remain occupied.

CHINA

So what does this mean for the long term? Short answer is nothing good. China took a stand against Phoenix over the occupation of its territory and became a part of the EDEN plan to get into Asia and retake its territory. Now, China has the threat of retaliation hanging over its head that the US and EDEN will have to correct. Presently, China does not possess an MPP with the USA, or any other EDEN country except Romania. With an open war with Indonesia now active and the Hungarians, Iranians and Russians lurking on their borders, China could very well pay a heavy price for daring to think it could regain one or both of its High Iron regions. Even if Phoenix does not attack China over this incident, they are certain not to forget it, and any effort to negotiate (lol) a return of any of China’s territory are sure to be rebuffed.

If Phoenix does decide to attack China, perhaps then the moralists will fight. Of course, it will be too late to effect a meaningful outcome, but that’s the price you pay for a clean conscious and a smug superior attitude.


INDIA

Iran has been refusing to hand over any of India’s territory necessary for its economic growth and development for months now. The end result has been India had been turning to EDEN for support (since Sol is useless) in gaining some High Grain regions with which to grow their own food. The Iranian response has been to threaten India with destruction and more recently launch a PTO attempt. When India was informed of America’s intention to make a move on East Asia to drive Phoenix out of China, the Indian government voted to declare war on Iran. This would have been highly beneficial (had the USA won in Kyushu) because India could then hold Iran in place. The USA could have then used its open war with China because of the Japanese MPP to region swap up to Iran’s High Iron region in China and attack it while India blocked Iran. This is something I did not mention yesterday, but this region swap maneuver would have put the USA within striking range of the High Iron without having to go through Korea and its Russian held regions. Unfortunately, an unholy alliance of Anti-imperialists and Imperialists managed to halt EDEN in Kyushu, and India is now holding the bag for an open war with Iran. Unlike China, India is most definitely under the Gun, as the Iranians are vowing to attack. Should this occur, EDEN will have to come to the aid of India out of moral principle. India tried to help us in our endeavor to drive Phoenix out of East Asia, we cannot permit them to be wiped because of it.

If Phoenix does decide to attack India perhaps then the moralists will fight. Of course, it will be too late to effect a meaningful outcome, but that’s the price you pay for a clean conscious and a smug superior attitude.

FINAL ANALYSIS

The Kyushu door is shut. Its unlikely EDEN will make any further efforts on it, and its just as unlikely Phoenix will let their MPP’s lapse with Japan again. For Japan’s part, they will congratulate themselves on defending their neutrality, but in truth they will be reduced to a dependent Phoenix state. Should Phoenix decide to punish China and India, they will naturally file all sorts of written protests, but since their protection will be coming from Phoenix countries, they won’t be able to fight in anyway for the defense of their neighbors. Not that they would anyhow now that I think about it. As for the United States, this will most likely conclude any offensive effort on our part. eRepublik V2 comes out in a few weeks and the US is unlikely to make any major campaign moves (like invading the UK) until after the new war module is released. Believe it or not folks, an invasion of the UK would be an enormous undertaking, and could conceivably launch a war that could last for weeks. In short, you do not want to be in the middle of a military campaign when eRepublik Admins decide its time to upgrade the game.
