Finance, Domestics and Immigration
Thedark ace
This is the second instalment in my manifesto, the first can be found here. Enjoy that. But, here is the rest 🙂
I'll start with domestics, the ministry that covers this will be communication. Ministry of Communication. This will be alerting everyone of what admin are doing, via both an article and PMing those less active within the Singapore community. It will be helping out new players, and telling them how to get onto IRC/forum and alerting players of ATO measures. A reaching hand out for the players of Singapore 🙂
Immigration, a big topic for me. I care about it a lot. Congressmen need to listen to the minister of Immigration, and that minister needs to be responsible. And, we let that slip this month. A certain congressmen approved a non-minister approved player, and that player is a PTOer 🙁
which is very upsetting. Immigration needs to be tight, and which is why I'm going to blacklist anyone who accepts someone not approved, and I am also going to fulfil the role of Ministry of Immigration. I really just can't let things slip.
Finance. It's something Singapore knows it needs to sort out. It needs to be fixed. It needs to be better. We need real wages. People take whatever job they can get, prices, excluding food, are extortionate. It just can't go on. I'd like to get more into our stone/housing market. I'd like to talk to big countries, especially exporters to export here to Singapore in housing and stone, especially stone. Houses are necessary for living in eRepublik, and Singapore needs them, it will expand markets too.
Monetary market it also a big part. I am glad to say I have attempted to contribute in keeping our market stable. But more needs to be done, sadly this month little was done, and Flaco was the only one who did anything. The bank should be stabilising our markets, not to mention our over-flowing SGD overdose. It's a big problem, that has led to our latest recession and needs to be fixed.
Babyboomz are basically what is needed to be half decent at eRepublik. You can have the top players, best produce for size economy and military tactics, but without players, you are left powerless. Which is why I'll be doing everything I can to get more new players into the game, like contacting real gaming magazines in Singapore, going on forums and trying to get in touch with the teenage/young adult gamers/people of Singapore. It is essential, and is really important for our survival really.
I hope you have enjoyed my manifesto, I will release my cabinet prior to the election, hopefully. To apply just PM me. Thanks,

Glad someone else sees the problems in ignoring the money market.
Voted.
Importing stone and houses wont help our wages at all. The only 2 ways to fix our economy as i see it is war, or initiating weapon/house/and ticket companies that can support their full 10 employees through exporting their goods.
Furthermore, there cant be a baby book without a good economy to support the players. No one is going to move to singapore if they can only get 8 tenths of an SGD, thats probably worth less than their home currency.
Domestic, monetary market, and immigrations plan look good though
GL!
@Leo, I can say no more than 3 peoples wages in this nation rely on stone or housing, so those being imported just bring in stone plus houses, and my main point was more housing and stone, not necessarily importing. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
Naturally, having 10 people working for you is ideal, and war isn't an option. Read first manifesto ;p
A babyboom just creates a good economy. That is a fact, you weren't here before polish+Serbian booms, and neither was strong or big, and didn't have a noticeably outstanding Market, look at them now.
+thanks for the support, and thanks to everyone else too!
I luz u guyz 🙂
"I'd like to talk to big countries, especially exporters to export here to Singapore in housing and stone"
Not necessarily importing, you say? sounds like importing to me.
If we have cheap foreign houses, the demand for local food and houses will further decrease.
We need to increase demand, or export.
10 employees is ideal, but only possible if you can sell everything you produce in 1 day.
2tru. But do all have to be active? Or high producers, hehe.
It won't lower demand for food at all.
We'll, not only importing.

Interesting. Babyboomz are hard to come by in small countries like us. Why not offer citizenship and support to other countries' noobs? They'll be too inexperienced to be PTOers so we don't betray our principles on immigration. Whaddya think?
Baby you can turn me on!
The problem with attempting to get a babyboom (and believe me I have tried several different ways) is that eSingapore has nothing to offer the new player. We have no high resources (Something they think they can get rich off of), we have no war to participate in with out shipping people out of the country (which leads them not to come back), we have very little in the way of an economy, though the recent steps back towards V1 will more than likely lead eSingapore back to its status as a manufacturing country that CAN make profit, its still too early to tell but signs are good.
If we are to get a baby boom, eSingapore may have to do some things that it normally wouldnt. Going to war would be one of them (eMalay is still oppressed by eSerbians, something many nations would be key to get in on fixing), building up the businesses of the nations would be another (though doing this is tricky as you dont want mooches coming for free cash).
As far as your example of stone and housing, not a good idea. Its been tried before by several presidents and it always end up being a money pit.
The attempting to get large nations to import to us is also not a new idea. Its been kicked around several times in several ways. Most nations are simply not interested in investing 20 gold then wages to import to a nation that does little business or manufacturing (though with the changes this should pick up again). What would be a better idea is approaching larger conglomerates or business empires for the same thing as they are more likely to part with gold than a nation and require a lot less in the way of negations.
I really like Relorian's mini-essay.
haha, nice one koos
Parrington, the problem is new players are stubborn, and always see themselves thinking they play a massive part in their nation.
Relorian (Torchwood weapons), I'm not proposing an entire market built upon stone and housing, but more the opportunity to have some degree of market in it. Getting people to import into markets, that pretty much aren't food and grain, is needed, as we just have to take what's there in other markets. But I do like the asking economic emperors idea.
Baby booms, may I ask you, didn't Poland get 20,000 players THEN attack Germany? Serbia had a babyboom and never attacked anyone. It's just getting the players...
But even if 8/10 noobs are stubborn little buggers, (and I'm sure the figure isn't that high), there are still 2 out of 10 who are realists. And I'm not proposing that we idly stand by and say 'noobs, come to Singapore, its well awesome', I'm proposing an active campaign, where potential recruits are assigned a personal mentor and given advice and training on getting on in the game. In short, we should plan to turn Singapore into a training academy for noobs.
Even if we don't adopt the above, we should absolutely definitely completely use the mentor scheme to bring through our own noobs.
