Citizens!

As a Dictator-King, I have a number of privileges. For example I am able to forcibly remove people from their homes and claim areas of land as my own. And that is precisely what I have done.

Anyone who has visited the Western Coast of Scotland, may be familiar with the lush, romantic Isle of Arran.



Or as it is now known, DICTATOR ISLAND.



That’s right! After clearing the island of it’s inhabitants, I have been using it as a personal resort and orgy island. But alas! How fickle be the minds of those with everything, and how easy do they become bored. In order to make Dictator Island more exciting, I have decided to invite members of the public to stay. You don’t need a golden ticket, you only have to fill in this form for an invitation.

But there is one small catch. Not everyone will leave. And whoever does, providing they acquire the fertility relic, will be given 10,000 GBP to never speak of their time on the island. Or as a prize, whichever interpretation makes you more excited.

However, participants can only leave if they locate something I have lost. My sacred fertility charm blessed by the Pope himself, the Golden Johnnies. Scattered across the islands are ten briefcases, one of which contains the Golden Johnnies. Whoever finds them has to get them to one of the two Ports on Dictator Island, and will be allowed to leave.

If other participants get jealous, perhaps even violent… it will be our little secret. Think of it like the eUK’s Battle Royale. Turn based exploration to recover King Woldy’s lost fertility symbols.



Participant’s upon arriving on the island will be assigned a random number, which will be known only to them. They will be dropped off in random quadrants of the Island to begin their search. Although a map with pins representing participants is available, at no point will participants be told which pin represents them.

Each citizen starts with 50 shiny Dictator beads and a Nokia 3310, a compass, and one random other unique item, which will be determined by a random number generator.

The 3310 will be given 30p credit every day courtesy of His Glorious Majesty the Great Dictator Woldy I, enough to send one text to another participant. This credit may be banked.

There are five Dictator Dispensers (double D’s for short) marked on the map, which participants may use to purchase items with their shiny Dictator beads. Participants may purchase, find, or steal weapons with which to attack other participants.

Participants may move across one quadrant a turn. Their movements and actions will be submitted onto the Dictator island master doc, with 1 turn lasting 48 hours. Entering certain quadrants may trigger random events in which case participants will be contacted to record their response.

When participants are in the same quadrant, a dice roll will determine if they notice one another. At which point participants will be given the opportunity to attack, steal, or hide. The results of actions will be determined by dice roll, and may be influenced by personal characteristics, items and chance. Townships and other structures may be searched at the expense of a turn.

The 3310 may be used to call ferries, or send messages to other participants (one a day). At the end of each day, a bitmap of the island with all participant's location will be sent to each participant.

All dice rolls will happen on a ten sided dice. (ie. a random number generator).

Combat will be resolved on who rolls a higher figure, with weighting applied depending on strength. In the case of a draw, a second role influenced by luck will determine the winner.

The intelligence characteristic will be used when engaging with secrets and safe’s, and in responding to random events.

Luck will be used to resolve draws and influence random events where applicable. Luck rolls may also trigger random events and can activate a ‘miracle’, saving a life in a combat situation.

Alertness will be used to determine a participant's ability to spot who is in their quadrant.

With twists and turns, and a benevolent Dictator watching from a boat, can you unravel the mysteries of Dictator Island? What will the island bring? Action! Passion! And cold hard cash.

Players will be contacted by the Dictator on 3310 about any deaths or events in the previous turn.
