Entertainment Edition

Day 1,991, 20:56 Published in Ireland USA by Raven Anarcho

In this special edition, I will be breaking away from the usual global updates to bring players a few top shelf entertainment recommendations, along with some of the readers' favorites.

HAVE YOU SEEN…

City of God (Cidade de Deus)

This Brazilian film dramatizes the growth of crime in a suburb of Rio De Janeiro. This film will take you for a ride, opening your mind up to a part of the world most have never experienced. Drugs, Violence, Drama and Romance all mix up perfectly in what some refer to as a Quinton Tarantino quality movie from South America. Craziest off all is that it’s based on real events.

HAVE YOU HEARD…

The Forgotten Rebels

This Canadian punk band was a lesser known band in the 80s, when much mainstream music in Canada was owned by American and British music. They mockingly placed rebel flags at their concerts, and a few of their songs mimicked conservative ideology in a satirical manner. With songs like “No Beatles Reunion” and “Elvis is Dead”, they took stabs at the mainstream scene when given the chance. Quoted from perhaps one of their best songs, “England Keep Yer Stars”:

“Radio loves the English bands
Radio loves the American bands
Have they censored Canada to get their money from foreign lands?
Rebels like us who have it rough
Canadian radio will not play our stuff
Now New York don't swing like a pendulum do
England keep yer stars”

I will be occasionally experimenting with The Radical, and will perhaps hold another contest this month. Aside from that, I will be continuing my congress term and, depending on who wins this CP election, running for PP of the ILP this month as well.
