Tonie robbed the state treasury, countless presidents didn't do anything good to our country. I'm willing to forgive these people, because we need them. We have to take a good look at odan's position on the forum, but it's better to look at the things he does first, before looking at the person. The forum leaking thing is impossible nowadays. So there is no fear for that anymore. Even if it was, we don't discuss important matters on the forum anymore.
What odan does, is within the law, part of the system. So banning him or whatever will have no grounds. That's why we should focus on this system to prevent abuse of power of certain individuals. Even if we get rid off odan, there will be always others who screw up for the others.
There is no real evidence that Tonie robbed the treasury. But he was one of a handful of people who had access at that time. If there had been concrete proof against him, he would never have been trusted enough to become CP or dictator. 😉
Apart from that, I agree with your statement. We can change the system, and if we can prove things are wrong with it, changing those is easy. But if there is disagreement about whether things are wrong, things unfortunately take a long time...
I think the problem at the time wasn't that people thought Tonie stole from the treasure (though there wasn't real proof either way and some did believe he might have), but that he didn't share information on the ticket with the moderation team of eRepublik. He was asked to do so by congress and only did so after he had been blacklisted for a couple of months. It's a long time ago though.
So Tonie was blacklisted for two months for stole the treasury, and we are blacklisted for more time just for nothing, wow nice impartiality.
That were other times. Other people as well. Even other rules. You are seen as a toxic player who divides our country and corrupt others. I think there is a chance for everyone to be good and I think we should be able to forgive. You have a long way to go before people will be convinced it won't hurt anymore to give you access. However people around here tend to be not so forgiving.
Double standards are being applied. Legendardisch has been a toxic player for years but the forum has not banned him. The forum is just not an equal playing field for all.
Maybe he is, but at least he shows improvement and never was as bad as kimi. And as I said, I hope everyone gets chances to better himself. Kimi did get these chances a lot.
It has nothing to do with double standards, just with personal opinions. After a period of blacklisting, people brought the issue up and we voted on it. There wasn't much resistance. You can do the same with Legendardisch if you want, but I think it won't pass. Of course that is partly because of our system. The people who maybe vote against him, will be the inactive people who never vote. So we need to change that and give them better opportunities to vote without even having to think about double standards.

I acknowledge my double standards which is a consequence of my position. I'm biased. So are you. At least my double standards are better than yours. I'm trying to find solutions which are good for both camps. Sadly they don't recognize their gains and losses.
