Easy eRepublik how to

Day 1,320, 15:11 Published in Serbia USA by gid1

I wrote similar article in Serbian language couple of months ago, but people keep asking from all over the world, so I decided to dedicate my new article to things that make eLife easier for everyone as I got tired to explain these things every day everywhere.

First of all many of us are using IRC network to communicate. Main base for erepublik channels is irc.rizon.net, and most used client as I noticed is Kvirc, so I will explain how to use it in a simple way, without having to be genius for internet or something.

So if u have Kvirc installed, just forget about what u did before and follow several simple steps to configure it. There are many ways but this is simple and usefull:

1. Open Settings -> Configure Servers
2. In the upper right corner, click world icon, this will make new network for You.
3. Fill in the field with name of network with "1.Rizon", this will make this network appear on top of the list of networks.
4. Now u can click "enter" and the window will close, so You can reopen window (it's easiest way for people not very familiar with Kvirc)
5. You should have "1.Rizon" on top of the list at this point. Select it and click "Advanced" button to proceed.
6. On first page in "General" tab, enter your personal data for connection. In the field "Server Encoding" choose UTF-8(8-bit Unicode), will enable You to see most characters needed, and select "Connect to this network at startup", this will make Kvirc connect to Rizon every time You run it.
7. In "OnConnect" tab enter just word "rizonstuff" (without quotation). Don't touch other tabs, just confirm everything and exit.
8. Get back on Settings -> Configure Servers, select "1.Rizon" and click it with right mouse button, than select "New Server" in a dropdown menu that appears. In the field where server name is recquested enter "irc.rizon.net" and that's it. Network settings will be used for all servers You add, so You don't have to reconfigure anything.

9. Now open Scripting->Edit Aliases
10. Right mouse button click on any command listed in that window and select "Add Alias"
11. In the popup window that's asking the name of Alias type "rizonstuff" (without quotation) and confirm.
12. Select "rizonstuff" aliases in aliases list and in black window on your right copy and change next text to fit your needs:

msg nickserv identify mypass
join #mychannel1
join #mychannel2
join #mychannel3
join #mychannel4

13. Click "Apply" and "OK" and your work is done!

To find channels You are interested in, You can check wiki page here, all official channels should be listed.

What we obtained is that every time You run Kvirc, it will automaticly connect, identify, and join channels on Rizon network. This is simplified as much as it can be, if any problems feel free to ask.

The same way You created alias for start up Rizon commands, You can create other aliases. For example if You want popular yell or all command in your Kvirc, open Scripting -> Aliases, right mouse button on any alias already existing and select "Add Alias". You can name it "Yell" or anyway You wish, than select it and in right black window copy:

say $chan.users

Click "OK" and job is done. All You have to do now is type /yell on any channel to call all present nicknames on that channel. Don't use it too much, nobody likes it allot and You could be kicked out because of flood.

There are two other things that are making eLife easier and everyone should keep them in mind in order to play eRepublik well.

First one is Erepublik Advanced script for Gresemonkey. It's easy to install and use if You have firefox browser. Just install Greasemonkey addon from here and than You can find script here. It has allot of possibilities and options, one article is certainly not enough to explain it so You will have to see for Yourself if it fits for You, but I never heared about someone that tried it and than stopped using it, it somehow became part of erepublik and for it's users erepublik cannot be played without it.

Second is egov4you.info project that is becoming better every day. It has all statistics you could ever need while playing. Especially usefull for military units for organization and controll of soldiers. With new Pulse Addon connected with this site, You can even follow where did soldier fight, with what weapon quality, how high was the wall in moment of hitting, how many hits he made and many other things, and it's updated every 30 minutes! For other statistics it's updated once every day, arround 3:00 erep time. Soon there will be new options available for users, and also for goverments making it easy to organize and follow armies from place of MOD or CP of a country, so I feel it will keep growing and You should certainly get familiar with it as soon as possible. For any doubt about this site You can find help on #egov4you channel on Rizon.

I hope I helped someone with this article, anyway this is stuff I find myself explaining every day on IRC so I really wanted to have it in some article. I am not internet guru or something, if anyone has better way of doing these things pls explain it, I would like to learn too 🙂
