Death & Taxes for IMP President

Day 2,093, 15:13 Published in Ireland Ireland by Death and Taxes

Here's the thing. The Presidential Party elections are tomorrow, and not one candidate has bothered their hairy arses to write an article on why their colleagues should vote for them.

Now I can understand the reasons that will be bleated about to excuse this shoddy state of affairs. 'It's an internal process so why should we communicate with the peasants?' 'I'm far too important to bother writing something to explain my political position' or even 'If the current CP thinks writing a 10 line article is good enough to get elected, then why should I write something about being PP?'

But of course it's important. It's important because how can we judge how good a job you've done as PP if you don't have a manifesto and a mandate to fulfil it? How can we judge if you were successful if you've nothing to implement? More importantly, as the role of PP is a stepping stone for your forthcoming CP candidature, how do we know if you'll make a good CP?

So, fellow PP candidates, you'll excuse me while I list my manifesto:

First In that the IMP will continue to grow and contest the next congress elections either by being in the top 5 or by conducting an alliance with another party.

Second In that we will be a top 5 party for the September congress elections.

Third That a party member will be MoFA, MoD, Tanaiste or MoF in September

Fourth That will put forward a party manifesto that clearly sets out our aims and goals to be scrutinised by all before the September congress elections

Fifth That we will continue to persevere in our belief that Ireland's position is best served in playing eRepublik as a game, and that we will utilise nationalism and role-playing only as a tool to improve our country's position in the world.

I humbly ask by party colleagues for their votes for this election and I urge all of you to make a courageous switch to leave the old politics behind and join us for the new world.
