Australian Congress – work of the July/August session
Detroit34
The July/August congress is nearly complete and the following is a report on the work on the session.
28 proposals were put forwar😛
Alliance proposals – 21
Donation proposals – 3
Impeachment proposal - 1
Natural Enemy proposals – 3
Three proposals, one alliance, the impeachment and one natural enemy were rejected.
There were 244 votes in favour of majority (in favour of the 25 accepted and three rejected proposals) and just 13 votes against the majority votes. Of 309 eligible votes (including a glitch of 12 votes cast on day 1715) 257 or 83% were exercised. It should be noted that the voting does not record abstentions and since all votes are secret absences are not noted.
The July Congress has been remarkably consistent in how they have voted. Well done.

Yeah if you don't count the forum good job, we use a forum and many senators have been absent and remained absent.
the forums complicates game based votes. the forum should run as an extra layer which cannot impinge on a senator's inherent right to make proposals. i proposed this reform at the start of my term and it was rejected by the senate.
Perhaps if those Senators weren't absent from the forums and forum votes your proposal would have passed. I'm not disagreeing with your proposal at all, I'm just saying that it would have helped you and the others who wanted to get things done if the others actually showed up, discussed, and voted.
Lancer speaks fact! 😁
Everyone makes valid points. Lancer is spot on that the forum is the best place to argue for support. the foum has failed although voting pattens suggest that we are mostly in agreement when it comes to proposals.
Of course the things done in the game (i.e. alliances and donations) are mostly just rubber stamping.
The forum has no authority and no credibility
We dont need to vote for everything upfront (eg MPP's) if there will be a ingame proposal as well. That just delays things. Good example was a MPP that was paid for and it took 3 days umming and aring to get to an agreement and the country in question was wiped.
