What a Wook wants, what a Wook needs…

Hello everybody!

You’ll all be pleased to hear that I made it back from Leeds with barely a scratch, although my wallet was a lot lighter unfortunately. The tales of cheap drinks ‘oop north’ were not true in this particular venue, I can tell thee.

Stuff and things I want to do…

Ok, so my last article was a little light on any actual plans or manifesto policies or any of that nonsense. I blame the ‘north’ and my phone.

So...what do I want to focus on this month?

Last time I ran I pushed for a very much scaled down cabinet. Fewer people in so-called important positions and more emphasis on encouraging the public...yes, you...to get involved off your own back, to build a better community for the eUK. This went down well with some and was derided by others for not allowing younger players to get a feeling of how government works.

Thus I have decided to run with a mixture of less is more combined with a free for all, everyone is welcome policy which both sides will hopefully find to be the right mix (yeah, right!).

On the home front…

My initial foray into politics in the eUK was in home affairs. I worked under some great Ministers and learned a fair bit. So my plans for this department are to welcome in all and sundry.

If you want to write an article and get it sent out into the media in the MoHA newspaper, send it to one of the lovely people I put in charge and they will give it a once over, talk it through with you and then get it published.

I will have a main MoHA, with a few deputies to help out and get articles out to the masses on a regular schedule. Basically this is an extension of my previous idea of allowing the masses to get involved, but if they so wish in a more direct manner, by writing for the MoHA or MoEd newspapers.

I hope that many will do both, submit work for the government but also continue to use their own outlets, so we have a thriving media, full of great wordsmiths.



This is not true, masturbation is much more fun, especially if done in a public place…



How to cope with the new world situation…

Regarding my plans for Defence and Foreign Affairs, I will be following the approach that the fewer people that are involved, the easier it is to get things done.

My Minister of Defence will have a couple of able deputies and I will make sure that one of them at least is willing and prepared to make the MoD newspaper a much more important piece of the media. The usual way of communicating with the eUK’s military units will continue via the current setup through in-game PMs and of course on irc at #MoD.

The world is a confusing and unsettled place currently and I don’t see that changing for some time. However the benefit of this is a shedload of war and True Patriot medals coming out of eUKers backsides!



Right. But we have to be on our toes…

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs always plays a vital role for the eUK and it is as important as ever right now. With the world changing by the minute, wars springing up left, right and centre we need a focal point for communication with our allies and even our enemies.

My role as Country President is part of this and having been elected to this position before, I know the time it takes and the work involved. Foreign Affairs and the usual CP job of button pressing is what you are there to do. Alongside a dedicated Minister this will be the extent of my foreign affairs department.

As with my plans for the MoHA though, I will be actively encouraging all citizens to get involved in talking with forigs and getting their feet wet in international waters.

I will expand further my plans for a Wook term in my next article, but I hope this gives you a good grasp of what I shall be getting done when you vote for me on Wednesday.
