Today’s WHPR
1. Continued Occupation of Indonesia
2. Media Hiring Correspondents
3. Foreign Country Spotlight
4. Get To Know Your Cabinet Members

Continued Occupation of Indonesia
After President Trekker led America to victory this past week over our Indonesian foe, American troops remain in Indonesia to protect American interests in the region. Indonesia has mounted several Resistance Wars against America, but America has handily defeated the Indonesians throughout the past few days. At the time of publication, battles had ceased and all was quiet on the battlefront. American soldiers should remain vigilant, and Military Unit Commanders should continue checking the DoD Orders to set accurate Daily Orders for their MU’s if Indonesia should mount a new attack.

The eUS currently owns or occupies a total of 64 regions. Here is the current map highlighting the current occupied regions by US forces in South Eastern Asia:

Media Department hiring Media Correspondents

The eUS Media Department, headed by Secretary Tom Cauchon is currently hiring correspondents to write for WHPR and the Pony Express. The goal is to return the WHPR and The Pony Express back to their former glory. If you are interested in joining an exciting and experienced team of writers, please contact Tom Cauchon or Tyler Bubblar.

We understand that the current opinions of the eUS media module reflects this:

But we know there are some promising writers out there, just waiting for their talents to be discovered. Writing for national media is an excellent first step towards national politics for many younger players. Contact Secretary Cauchon or Dep. Secretary Bubblar immediately!

Foreign Country Spotlight
Tom Cauchon, Secretary of Media

Editor’s Note: The following begins a new weekly section of the WHPR, highlighting the affairs of several different eCountries around the eWorld. These objective countries reports do not indicate the opinions or feelings of the current Trekker administration.

This Week’s Foreign Country Spotlight: Australia
The eAussies have had an extremely interesting month in relation to the Dictatorship module. A source inside the eAustralian government states that activity has extraordinarily high within the eAustralian community over the past month due to several changes in the Dictator seat in eAustralia.

Australia's dictator was a player by the name of XenthuS, and he took over the country by form of a standard dictatorship war. After he ascended to the dictator seat, according to the government official, the eAus Congress scrambled to figure out how to keep eAustralia afloat under a dictator whose intentions were unknown at the time. XenthuS, a member of the Anzac BG MU, which is an arm of Black Spectra, approved several foreign citizenship requests of his own fighters that the eAus Congress did not approve.

XenthuS

Even so, in an attempt to save their ecommunity, the eAus government voted to negotiate rather than revolt against XenthuS. According to the government official, negotiations were extremely slow, and highly frustrating for all parties. Eventually, several players in the eAus community began a revolution against XenthuS and his group of fighters. The revolution succeeded and democracy was restored to eAustralia.

eAustralia Congress, like the eUS Congress decided that a preventative dictatorship would be the best method of keeping XenthuS and his fighters at bay. The congressional-approved coup failed, as XenthuS rallied enough troops to keep the eAus Congress from establishing a dictatorship.

eAustrlian Warships clash with XenthuS’ forces just off the coast of Melbourne

Just a few days ago, the eAus community started another coup to establish a preventative dictatorship. This coup succeeded and eAustralia now has an established dictatorship to prevent a dictator like XenthuS from ascending the throne ever again.

Current map of eAustralia

However, due to the damage caused by XenthuS and the approval of lots of foreign citizenship requests of his supporters, there is still the risk of a PTO in Australia. The eAus community remains vigilant againt further PTO attempts and dictatorship battles.

To stay update on this issue, keep an eye on eAustralia throughout the next couple of weeks.

Get To Know Your Cabinet!: Tom Cauchon
Jude Connors, Cabinet Correspondent

Writer’s Note:Hi, I'm Jude Connors - Contributing Writer to the White House Press Release, and this is The More You Know. Each segment, I will interview a highly influential member of government and bring you all the info. To start off with, I have the NEWLY appointed Media Secretary, Tom Cauchon in the hot chair.

Jude Connors: Welcome to The More You Know, Tom.

Tom Cauchon: Thanks Jude. Really an honor to be getting interviewed. All that hard work over the past few months is finally paying off.

JC: That's awesome. Congratulations on your appointment. Now, this is your first appointment to the national government, have you held any other leadership roles?

TC: My journey in Erepublik has been interesting. Over the past month, I have jumped from a common foot soldier to a contributor in various leadership roles. I currently serve as the Director of the Build-A-Bear training program for Bear Cavalry. I also serve on the Revolutionary Committee for the Socialist Freedom Party, and I am a current and former Congressman for SFP. This will be my first appointment to national politics, and I am looking forward to learning and working alongside many of our most important citizens.

JC: Learning is a great thing. Let's talk about your department. It has been criticized a lot in the last few months under many different Secretaries and Country Presidents. Do you have any plans to turn it around?

TC: First off, thank you to Smee was here for running the WHPR prior to my new team taking over. Smee was running the whole thing as a one-man operation, which is impressive in itself. I agree though, the Media Department needs an overhaul and gathering more contributors is the first thing that needs to be done. A single person running the entire WHPR isn't the most ideal situation. As for my team, Tyler Bubblar has agreed to be my Deputy. He is a former Secretary of Media himself, and brings good experience to my team. Between his experience, and my fresh thinking, I believe we will make a formidable media team. In addition, you have agreed to assist us with writing and editing. We're also going to be implementing a plan to include regular citizen's contributions in our upcoming press releases.

JC: That sounds fantastic. Now tell me something a little more personal. What is your ultimate end-game goal in eRepublik? How do you think you can achieve it?

TC: I feel like the sky is the limit currently. I enjoy playing Erepublik, and as Trekker likes to say, I'll probably be here until the server shuts down. I doubt I'll ever be active enough to pursue the top levels of national government, but I'd like to perhaps take some smaller leadership roles in my party (SFP) and my Military Unit (Bear Cavalry). I enjoy helping new players, just as a lot of people once helped me. I also enjoy the media module, as you can tell. I'd like to bring a new face to the Media Department and then we'll take it from there.

JC: Excellent. Now one last question... the MOST IMPORTANT question... then I'll let you get to work on overhauling the Media Department.

TC: Go ahead.

JC: How awesome am I?

Tom chuckles as he answers...

TC: You're pretty awesome Jude. I remember back when I was a Fed and SHIELD member, you were always helpful to younger players, including myself. You'll always be one of my first friends in Erepublik.

Jude laughs...

JC: Good to see I got ya fooled - lol. Anyway... Thank you, Tom. I hope I can continue to help out with you and Tyler and get this boat headed in the right direction again.

TC:Thanks for having me. It's been a real pleasure. Look for the new WHPR releases coming at you, America!
