Dio Soryu

“If you had a million years to do it in, you couldn't rub out even half the "**** you" signs in the world. It's impossible.”

-J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

The recent occurrences in the IES approvals and her responses to inquiries have made it apparent that Beach Bunny feels she is above reproach and also doesn't agree with a large portion of Congress about what our immigration policy should be.

I propose that we remove Beach Bunny from her position as an IES agent.

-dmjohnson, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

So let's suppose that yesterday's approval was a mistake.

As far as today's approval of Dill, I would of done the same thing after talking with Aramec (his status is now pending, so no cz given).

Are you asking me to get rid of a dedicated IES that actually made one unofficial mistake in her career? Nope, I won't.

-IES Director Deepchill, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"James Finn was actually denied the first time he applied several weeks ago, after I asked him to come over and follow citizenship procedures.

At that time, I brought him into #IES and had him talk with BB.

http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3464

That is James Finn, he is a known quantity and a stand-up guy. No one here actually has a reason to think he was suspicious and there was never any reason to think he would be a security risk, so it seems odd that everyone would be arguing hind-sight here.

Even if you did assume he was a seekrit doublemuslim bent on PTOing Murica, BB would have had no way of knowing that and there was nothing in his history that would have suggested that."

"Maybe this is just a dumb place for WO to be jerking his hateboner for BB.

Here's what it comes down to.

The blacklist exists specifically for the purpose of explicitly stating known individuals who are to be summarily denied citizenship. IES exists to exercise discretion in all other cases. Aramec vouched for Dill and has assured both IES and this body that he will not cause trouble and, as a sitting President, his say so is going to carry some more weight than it might normally.

It was, perhaps, ill-advised for BB to approve his citizenship.

However, what this does not constitute is the kind of systematic disregard for her duties and for Congressional authority this thread has implied and the justification for which this witch-hunt is being pursued.

Deepchill has stated he will not dismiss BB for this; if Congress is still committed to putting its torches and pitchforks to use, that is up to Congress but that is a matter for another thread. This thread no longer serves any purpose.

P.S. You're ******** idiots."

-Dio Soryu, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"And people wonder why there aren't more volunteers for these kind of jobs.

I don't see any reason to flog BB over this. Deepchill has said she's done a great job, and maybe this whole situation could've been handled a bit better but there's absolutely no reason for the witch hunt this almost immediately devolved into."

-illiguy, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"Actually, immigration isn't that hard. Default to no unless there is overwhelming evidence to push it to a yes. Simple."

-Pfeiffer, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"Says [Pfeiffer] who defected straight out of the White House to the UK, fought against America for the UK; then pushed his CS request through back channels. If these are the standards we apply to others such as TheDillPickl, why the **** are we not applying them to you?"

-Franklin Stone, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"I would be curious to know what the justification is for this.

Not discounting the possibility that there is some circumstance this could be acceptable in, but it does sound pretty hypocritical."

-Dio Soryu, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

[This question was never answered, although through some digging the rationalization seems to be that Pfeiffer never technically fought against the US, proper, simply against its interests from a position of having privileged understanding of those interests during a time of national crisis (Invasion by Hungary, Serbia and Poland.)]

"This is turning petty. Blacklisting Pfeiffer or BSP or anyone else just makes Congress look even more ineffectual than before, makes the whole thing an even bigger case of tyranny by the majority and shows us for the squabbling children that we are."

-Wild Owl, [Discussion] Censure of Pfeiffer
(July 19, 2014; regarding Pfeiffer's aforementioned actions while in UK.)

"The real question I have is what laws or rules have I broke, to warrant a removal from IES. It's really weird to remove someone over nothing."

-BeachBunny, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"None. Those voting yes are just in for some kind of revenge."

-Deepchill, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"I'm newly reinstated under Deepchill but I worked with BB while I was deputy Director under Wild Owl. I've had opportunity to discuss a little with Deepchill and, if I'm allowed a personal opinion here, think this is overkill. I suggested to Deepchill a probation period and policy review.

You're all free to organize yourselves as you see fit but this vote is more a vote against Deepchill than BB. Is he allowed to staff and oversee IES or not?"

-rainy sunday, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"Pfeiffer is entirely correct, in that Congress is supposed to deal with the Director if they have a problem.

The reason this is not happening, however, is that most of Congress doesn't feel the same way about Deepchill's staffing or decisions regarding IES. If they did actually feel that way, they would deal with Deepchill.

That is what makes this so obviously a witch-hunt pursued by BB's political enemies and blindly followed by party members who are merely towing a party line either out of idiocy or fear of making enemies of their parties high ranking members. I find it unfortunate that BSP has failed to take notes from SFP and recognize that BB isn't the establishment they're blindly lashing out at with their votes on this question.

More unfortunate is that Congress fails to recognize that it doesn't even have the authority to do this. I hope Deepchill does not simply reinstate her against this body's wishes but tells you to your face that this isn't consistent with the rules this body established to govern itself and where to stick it.

And most unfortunate is how AMP has completely failed to back up it's own ******* member with the kind of tenacity this kind of legislative abortion deserves.

This 'esteemed body' is so hilariously dysfunctional, I don't even know what to say anymore except that I don't think I brought enough gasoline or matches."

-Dio Soryu, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

2.54 Regulations for the IES
The IES shall abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Congress."

"This makes it perfectly clear that Congress reserves the right to edit/change/set/hate-****/whatever-it-wants the rules governing IES. That includes staffing decisions. If Congress wants to legislate on that point, it can."

-Cromstar, [Discussion] Removal of Beach Bunny from IES Staff

"No, this whole process from every side has been embarrassing to read."

“Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be.”

-J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

"My back is already against the wall and this is the only option I could come up with. I figured, if that sonuvab**** God hadn't abandoned me, you might lend me a hand. This is one time when I mustn't fail, no matter what. If I don't do something, all the phonies in the world will be legitimized."
