We Love Mother Russia
Normand X

Today, the White House Press Room would like to put the focus on the nation of Russia. For many political administrations, diplomatic relations have extended through the roots of a free and potent global policy established by the White House. The White House has always maintained a establishment of respect for soverign nations accross the world, and have always maintained great allies, destined to increase global opportunities for all citizens. Although, arguabley, no nation has extended their hand in diplomacy and global cooperation as far as the nation of Russia.

Diplomatically, the United States and the nation of Russia have been in a mutual Protection Pact, of which we extend our greatest thanks and appreciations to His Excellency, President Hryushkin Aleksandr as well as our President, The Honorable Molly Emma. Though, even though the most recent Mutal Protection Pact was signed by His Excellency, President Aleksandr as well as President Emma just two days ago, the history of Russian-American relations extends far beyond 2 days. The United States and Russia foreign policy relations have been one of the most favorable in recent memory accross the new world, citing numerous mutual protection pacts over the span of several administrations. The first diplomatic exchange which was in good health was in December 2010 as the United States was involved into the alliance of TERRA, including the nation of Russia as lifelong leaders of TERRA, under Russian President Alicanto.

As our world has been transformed over and over, and it will continue to change, as the world goes through civil unrest and revolution, as the curtain to political theater and military wargames is cast, there is but one nation who has and will stand there beside us, casting their flag in name. The rocksolid alliance between the United States and Russia. Our alliance is essential, it is indespensible, not only for the citizens of our own nations, but for people around the world who desire freedom, safety and a better standard of living. Which is why, the Emma administration has been so focused in regards to foreign policy around relations with the nation of Russia. Today, the White House can state with pride that the United States and Russia are closer, then ever before. Russia and the United States, stand together united under a banner and a united front, in our determiniation to expand trade and to fight in military war games. The White House believes our citizens should we able to live, free from fear, and to ally ourselves in defense of our countries, who would terrorize our citizens. So we stand united, for those who seek to uphold the values of humanity, and we will continue to do so in alliance with Russia.

The U.S. have in recent memory, alligned itself with the diplomatic and militaristic ideologies of the nation of Russia. Whether it be the conquest of Abkhazia against Georgia, or attacks upon Finland, the White House can think of no better tangible picture of advancing our values through mutual sacrifice by our service men and women in Russia and in the United States. With the very recent creation of the alliance between the United States and the nation of Russia within the sphere of global alliances known as "Pacifica", the White House only sees fit to show the American People what a excellent ally and awe-inspiring nation Russia has become.

The nation of Russia is a sprawling landmass, extending from the European Continent, all the way towards the Pacific, bordering China. Not only does this exceptional nation share borders with nations in two continents, it furthermore shares borders with, but not limited to, Georgia, China, Finland, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and much, much more. The nation of Russia encompasses all that is natural in the world, as it contains ecosystems some nations could not imagine having. Russia includes extensive forests, massive lakes, incredible deserts, and unbelievable tundra. Though many can claim Russia's supremecy in global landscapes and environmental masterpieces, many more have witnessed the incredible feats ordinary construction workers have achieved within cities such as Moscow. Beautiful and extraordinary works of art have been spotted such as St. Basil's Cathedral.

The nation of Russia continues to surprise and fascinate those who look further into factual evidence of this wondrous nation. Russia, a beautiful nation with around 143 million dispersed around various habitats, also extends to around 9 entire time zones. The capital of Russia is Moscow, which is also the largest city. In addition to it's large cities and generally large population, many other languages other then Russia are spoken of. Russia has the advantage of the wide array of diverse natural resources, and is one of the world's largest producers of oil. Furthermore, Russia has a extensive scientific stature amongst the world, as it launched the world's first satellite, Sputnik, in 1957 by the former Soviet Union. Russia is furthermore a incredible renewable resource creator, as their amazing hydropower system creates one of the most large amounts of energy in moden history.

In closing, it is with a honest mind and a resolve for growth and prosperity that the United States would like to further their economic and military power, and one of the only ways to do that is to seek a clear and open dialogue with the Russian President, and to further develop better forms of diplomacy in accordance with the Russian populace.

I would like to sincerely thank President Aleksandr for his time in helping me develop this article.

Congressional Happenings...
Franklin Stone

I have been trying to write an article over my concerns with Congress, unsuccessfully I must add. Then like a thunderbolt from heaven it struck me, my concerns might not be America’s. So instead of trying to impress on America how I feel, I am going to take the advice of a friend and current candidate for Speaker of the House Jude Connors; instead I will simply supply America with a few of the Public threads currently being debated in Congress:

We will start with The Legislative Branch:

First up is Kemal’s Request for Martyrdoom: Requesting Congressional Martyr Medal

Next is Pfeiffer’s demand for an apology: Thread for acknowledgement of thievery

Next stop is the Public Congressional Proceedings, where American citizens may express their concerns; the replies must be accepted by the forum admin so if you can’t seem to be heard there I encourage you to write you Party President.

Speaker of the House, this one is GLORIOUS: [Nominations] 79th Speaker of the House

Then the [VOTE] 79th Speaker of the House, which was almost glorious...

The censuring and punishment of first time Congress Member: Censure of Raphael3

Should Congress Define Rogue Proposals and the punishments therein: [Discussion] Rogue Proposal

There it is America and all you gotta do is read, form your own opinion; and express it. Get active in your party, get on the Party Congressional List, win a seat and join the long traditions of Congress...until someone whacks you on the head with a cane. 90% of playing this game is reading, get use to; contribute to it...

A Word With The Candidates
Jude Conners

With Congress elections behind us and the Speaker of the House elections in full swing in the Congress forums, it is time to turn our attention to the upcoming Presidential elections. I was able to speak with both candidates and ask them a few questions. this is what they had to say;

dmjohnston
1. What do you feel is the biggest hurdle that eUSA has to overcome right now?
The disconnect between the people within our country is our biggest issue. Parties bicker, USAF and PMUs don't want to fight together, etc. We've made some progress more recently on some things, but they quickly devolve with a little prodding.

2. Is there a program or initiative you wish to start/restart while Country President?
As I mentioned in my recent article, the daily Press Releases and feedback from the people of the eUS is the thing I'm most excited about.

3. Do you have any ideas for a baby boom?
Baby booms are difficult to initiate without things like an invasion or a rallying call. Something we can certainly do to help the situation is ensure that our community is welcoming and makes new players want to invite others to join. That comes from working together in the parties, in the military, etc.

4. How do you feel about the new alliance and do you have any plans to try to get other allies into it to make it grow?
I'm very excited about Pacifica. I think we're in a fantastic position to add more people to it and turn it into a strong coalition that will be the basis for new alliances moving forward. The age of the mega-alliance seems to be over, and we're just ahead of the curve on the way forward.

5. What is the biggest shortcoming of the current President and what would you do differently?
Molly has been sadly absent from the media on a lot of things, and I like to think I'll be more open about what's going on behind the Oval Office doors. I would have handled things differently with Sirius, been more willing to try and work out a middle ground, but I also don't think we are in a bad position now because of it. It was a poisonous relationship for the eUS and we are in very good position now to secure ourselves and assist our allies.

John Largo
1. What do you feel is the biggest hurdle that eUSA has to overcome right now?
Getting all on the same page. We are a strong nation, but we have not shown that for a long time. We can still do it if we put aside past differences and start looking together toward the future.

2. Is there a program or initiative you wish to start/restart while Country President?
My campaign promise of open PDBs is still on the table. We'll tweak it to make it work around forum constraints, but it will happen. The people will see what is going on behind the curtain of their government.

3. Do you have any ideas for a baby boom?
Not really. It would be nice, but we need to make a good nest for our newbies. The Interior and Education departments have improved this year to the point that I would say they are ready. Now we just need to heal the fractures in our society, so we stop calling other eAmericans enemies to the point that newbies don't know who to trust, and they wind up in the arms of Ajay. That is not as far away as you might think either. Then we would be ready for the baby boom.

4. How do you feel about the new alliance and do you have any plans to try to get other allies into it to make it grow?
It has to grow, or it has to end. A 2 nation alliance is not an alliance. It is a partnership. I value Russia as a long term partner and bro....but we are going to need a lot more than 1 country if we ever need the help of an alliance.

5. What is the biggest shortcoming of the current President and what would you do differently?
Well, off the top of my head, the poor planning of the Cuba NE is a black eye in my book. There was no need for it to be rushed, as we have had plenty of prep time for this tourney. I know that is the domain of one of her cabinet members, but the boss takes the blame for the employee's performance.
I thank each of the candidates for their time and this interview. I encourage the entire community to check out the campaign articles of both candidates. An informed vote is a smart vote.

Best of luck to both candidates!

What it means to be a Congress Member Part 2
ReSoul

In our last edition I explained to you the basic in-game functionalities that can become privilege to those seeking to become congressmen here in eRepublik. Today I will be focusing on what will be available to you off-site after becoming a congress member on the eUSA Forums, which is also where most of your congressional activities will be taking place.

First of all, where you go to take part in all discussions is the Legislative Branch of the eUSA forums. Which is shown below.
The two sub-forums shown below are the Public Congressional Proceedings and the Private Congressional Proceedings. Everyone already has access to the Public half, but once you become a congressman is when you get access to the Private half. You will be participating in discussions in both of these however, so make sure to keep an eye on both.

However before you get access to the Private half, you must first go to "The Legislative Branch" Forum itself and sign in! Every new Congressional term there is a sign in (Which is then re-done every week) in order to account for people who need access to the Private Congressional Proceedings sub-forum, and also to set a quorum for all votes done in congress. (To set a quorum for votes means to set a minimum number of congressional members who have to vote their side before any action can be taken based off of the vote, for example- if the quorum is 30, and only 29 people vote, even if its a unanimous yes so far, no action can be taken until at least one more person votes.)

On this forum you will have two actions you can take if you want to get some sort of law passed. First you must start a discussion thread over whatever change you'd like to see happen. After a 24 hour discussion you may start up a voting thread over the issue. Then if the vote is "yes", you may bring it to an in-game vote through the method described in our last edition (If it is an issue that can have an in-game vote). Failure to proceed in this order will usually result in a censure.

I hope this has explained to a good extent the forums you will have access to as a eUSA congress member and the different types of actions you can use to bring about any change you'd like. Thank you for reading! 🙂
