Join the new world

So it's been just over a week since I first curled up in a warm corner of the backbenches, and quite a week it's been. With all the wars going on for resources, it's all been pretty busy and any chance of a catnap were soon scuppered by one of UKPP's own congressmen deciding that he wasn't uber enough and had to bring in a Croatian character he'd somehow managed to procure, despite misgivings from some in the party and the annoyance of this grumpy moggy. This seems to have caused a bit of a stir, especially given recent events which has seen our Party President, Pannonian Nomad, leave both congress and the party. Whether it was a fit of pique or just trolling, but he's left us with Lord London as new Party President, which may very well force me to reconsider my position too.


So on to less interesting things, voting and so forth.

MPP with Spain - voted for
No-brainer, really. We've been allied with Spain for a while and I don't see any reason why it shouldn't continue.

VAT & Import Taxes: House - voted against
This was a rather silly attempt to stall any vote prior to proper discussion in congress. No notice was given to the party over it, never mind congress, so a resounding "no" was the only reasonable response.

VAT & Import Taxes: Sand - voted for
Apparently this is a good thing. Everyone else seemed to think so. Just make sure it doesn't get into your undercrackers, cos it can be a bitch to clean up.

MPP with Germany - voted for
Another no-brainer, really. See MPP with Spain above.

VAT & Import Taxes: House - voted for
This was a more serious attempt to reduce VAT, after a proper discussion. Seemed a good idea at the time.

MPP with Croatia - voted for
Hey, MMPs are good. Allies are good. Even if they control the flow of Scotch.

MPP with Estonia - voted for
Estonia make vodka, don't they? Sounds like a good place with which to have an alliance.

Trading Embargo on Albania - voted against
Well, this might be a controversial decision. Had I voted for, it would have passed. Seems to me that it was all caused by a clash of personalities, with the Albanian CP being a bit of a tosser before apologising. That's how I saw it before curling up for another catnap, anyway.

Peace Proposal with France - voted for
They'll probably only end up getting wiped again anyway. Plus they make reasonable wine, which is always a good reason not to fight people.

MPP with Lithuania - voted for
I don't know what Lithuania makes, apart from tanks. Still, always good to keep good relations.

MPP with Cuba - voted for
As long as they remember to send me cigars.

So yes. There's my roundup of my congressional duties so far. Time for another nap; it's been a busy day.
