[Top5Filler] Conversation Starters
J.Canuck
Kinda quiet.
I'll just throw up a few conversation starters and see if it helps.
1. What's the best movie you've seen recently?
2. Best book you've read lately?
3. Best song/artist you've heard...?
4. Insert you own question here.
Comments
1. Hmmm... I think I've only been out for a movie a couple times recently, Jurasic Park and The Imitation Game are the only 2 recent ones I remember - both decent but not fantastic. Had much more fun watching Smokey and the Bandit on TMN the other night.
2. The Martian. 4 out of 5 stars. The movie is on the way starring Matt Damon.
3. I'm not such a fan of Leonard Cohen but I like "Everybody Knows"

What do you think Greece is going to look like in five years?
In five years there might just be light at the end of the tunnel the Greek's have been in for the last five years but it's going to be a long slog even in the best case scenario. If they default and have to leave the Eurozone they will might just have hit rock bottom in five years but maybe not even.
I can't see them getting anywhere. Ironically, I don't think they're capable of becoming a real modern democracy and economy with the deeply rooted culture of corruption, tax avoidance, elitism and distrust of government.
If this were a hundred years ago, some country would take them on as a protectorate. Probably the UK. They just don't seem capable of doing what's necessary to get themselves better.
It'll be similar to now, but using drachmas, which will be the pesos of Europe.
Havent seen a very good movie recently.. maybe Jurassic world for the cgi haha. The closing of the american mind is a wonderful book i have been reading recently. Best song or artist ive heard.. much tougher question to answer. My question -> what keeps you playing?
Saw it last night and it was a decent movie but I still thought it was mostly just a rehash of the other movies with somewhat updated special effects.
...not sure why I still play, maybe I'm waiting for the day JR Bond becomes our CP.
I say we just fucking do it already but then he'll probably just leave, too.
you people are what keeps me playing haha
1. JURASSIC WORLD!
'Tis a great film, truly worthy as the heir of Jurassic Park. Chris Pratt is in it as well, and he's great.
2. Probably 'A Short History of the Byzantine Empire' (or something along the lines of that) by John Julius Norwich.
I've been exploring the dark ages recently, and I would recommend this as an introduction for the period- it's great for anybody to read. I actually started off this period with Tom Holland's 'In the Shadow of the Sword', which really introduced me to early Muslim history. Nonetheless, Norwich's book tops Holland's in my opinion 😛
3. T Swizzle.
4. Can you feel it now Mr Krabs?
I stumbled on the audio book for Jack Weatherford's Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World a while ago and learned a lot of things I didn't know about non-Euro history. He probably takes things a little far but he makes a good case that Europeans take credit for a lot of things they probably learned from the Mongol Empire and from China.

1. Quest for fire an old ass caveman movie with Ron Pearlman. He fits the role perfectly.
2. Confessor part of the sword of truth series.
3. I seriously don't follow music enough to name any songs. I listen to everything except country, metal and jazz
4. Who wishes to join my sphere of influence and power?
Forgot about that movie. I would have thought it wouldn't have aged well. All I remember is that I think Frank's Zappa's daughter was in it, and that the cavemen liked to sneak up on the cavewomen bending over in the fields for a surprise quickly.
I'll just throw up a few conversation starters and see if it helps.
1. What's the best movie you've seen recently?
12 Monkeys
2. Best book you've read lately?
Certainly not Farenheit 451. Maybe The Poisonwood Bible, which I'm currently reading, will be better.
3. Best song/artist you've heard...?
Ever? The Parlotones or Anarbor.
4. Why do all of you real-life Canadians think your bagged milk is so special? We have it all over where I live in 'Murikaland.
Our bagged milk must be special - we pay 3X more for it than you do 😉
Canada pays more for absolutely everything except animal furs, maple syrup, and Eastern European hockey players, it seems.
