Dear readers,
So as you all know, a couple of days ago I published an article about an eRepublik moderator. The story was something like this:
1- There was a battle going on for India against Argentina
2- Some of my friends from my MU were hitting there, but I didn't know about it
3- I received a PM from an Indian guy asking me to hit there, and so I did.
4- I was hitting for the wall. The old BH was a woman from our MU who also happened to be a moderator.
5- I kept hitting and won the BH.
6- The mod got pissed that I won the BH medal fair and square and insulted and abused me, then later on kicked me from the MU.
7- The same mod is known to throw tantrums whenever she doesn't get her way, few examples being her going into rage-mode when eNew Zealand denied her a CP medal. In no time people were getting temp-banned for no reason and stuff was getting removed from their accounts. Not only that, she also made her MU hit against them for months and months.
In my last article I published the abuses and screenshots of tickets and everything, and apparently it was so violent that eRepublik took my article down in 20 minutes(For which I got my 8th FP and couldn't do anything for 72 hours). Then a friend of mine republished it(with a little edits), and they took that down as well but in 3 hours.
Anyways, I made sure they were aware of this issue.
After a day I received a reply to my new ticket(From my favorite admin of all time) that, if anything, surprised me.
I will not copy/paste the screenshot of the ticket(its illegal), but I will paste a small portion of the text here, and it is as follows:
"First of all I want to let you know that we already took the proper measures in this situation, as you can see from yourself,the player that insulted you is no longer in our moderator team."
and the answer to my older ticket from a different person:
"An investigation was carried and the reported Moderator has been removed from our Team."
YES!
eRepublik listened!
Maybe they are not so evil after all.. they investigated the issue at hand, and they have removed the moderator from their team. Its not everyday you see an article supporting the Admins, but you have to give credit to them where its due.

In order to establish good relations with the (now) ex-Mod I sent her a PM.

They may have not kicked her from mods, but just hidden mod shield in profile so you calm down.
Moderators can hide their badge on their own, not all moderators have it on their profile for everyone to see
Exactly. Being a part of Erepublik administration itself does not guarantee a good community's attitude, as described above, so this is an option.
While it's possible they just hidden her badge I want to believe admins actually did something and removed her from moderators team as there were multiple complaints, few of them you can see even here.
It's not like she's (or 99% of other mods) irreplaceable.

They shouldn't have player moderators at all. It leads to nothing but trouble, or, at best, the potential for trouble.

Yes, it is. Or do you think this is the first time this sort of thing has happened? It isn't. It's happened several times before, that I know of. And it won't be the last.
They are removed if they make a mistake. The other option is to pay non players, who don't know a thing about the game to be moderators? Noooooooooooope
Find me any game where moderator team isn't consisted of people who play that game. : P
You can't put someone in that kind of position and they have no idea what to do....
You suppose this is a difficult game to learn in about 20 minutes. You also suppose one cannot participate in the game environment without participating competitively. It really is not that difficult.

Game itself isn't that hard to learn but to learn how players act in certain situations, what are their stances on certain question and so on moderator really should be pretty involved to understand a lot of actions that players make so he could decide to proper punishment and so on.
But yeah, you are right, tho I still think this way of working is good as like in this case till now moderators really get striped down from their power if they did something wrong/bad...
i don't know this mod personally neither do i know if it's true she tampered with player's account assets or inventories but in cases like that, i think the mod should not only be removed from the team but should have their personal account dissolved and compensations made. Then PERMABANNED for breach of trust.

The player moderators work for free so there's that advantage for eRep Labs
In another game they had mods who didn't play the game for years and were thus rather naive about pvp etc. believe me - even plato could've made it better.

Yes! Good job DarkKnight, finally she isn't Moderator anymore.
I would like to think that also my reports from 2 months ago where there were some proofs where she was insulting others, helped admins to finally make a decision like this.
They said something like this "In the second case, indeed the behaviour is rather unacceptable, thus we have taken appropriate action." So I guess she broke moderator laws once again.
It's always good to see when good players win the battle against some bullies... \o/

I have nothing but loathing for those who exploit their power in unethical ways.
If you have to cheat to win, you aren't really winning, you're just spoiling the game for others and the most important to you knows it: you.
I remember some shouts where she insulted some guy, which is obviously forbidden, especially if you're moderator.
Only one day after that she gave me two FPs for some comments (not saying those were undeserved)... it's hypocrisy at its finest.
Mods abusing power is the worst for a game .
I also had an issue with a Mod at some point and got the FP removed a few days later (it was really undeserved),but as far as I understood from some people it seems that Mods are divided by communities and so they have their own kingdom to rule over so if you appeal you might end up with the same person judging it ..my advice in cases like this (especially in smaller communities ) is change citizenship 😉
To start off citizenships don't matter in any way. No, it will not end up the same person judging it either, chances are around 0%. IF the FP was really undeserved (like 90% of people who get one would say) it would have been removed.
It was undeserved and it was removed ...in my case the event happened more then 3 years ago so maybe the way things are organized changed.
