[Speaker/Reform] Logistics 'n that

Day 3,100, 04:49 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Good afternoon lads o7,

Pending another successful multi operation; I am happy to announce the good people of Parliament and UK Reform have once again elected the most historically inactive martinet to once again assume office, with the traditional complete absence of manifesto policy. I’d like to thank good ol’ Ron for at least making it a decent two way race for the Speakership and the dangerously active UKRP that fielded a magnificent seven heavyweights for our monthly last man drinking contest.

We have had a pretty active term thus far gov side, with a corresponding drop of activity in mongress. The committees with the exception of citizenship, as far as anyone’s aware, are completely inactive, in terms of constitutionally holding the government to account - largely defunct. We also face the rather gloomy issue of a slowly shrinking community. There seems to be a deep parallel in how many have the time to participate in keeping the logistics of the legislative wing of government alive.

We demonstrated after recovering from our MTO by the infamous MEK that we could as a community think outside the box of the frankly appalling ingame mechanics and hammer out working common grounds to productively work as a society. And most of it has more or less survived since all the main parties put aside previous ‘eViolence’ and signed up to it.

One of the key themes I’d like to try and collaborate with people on this month is a further decentralisation of the legislative process. The more individual citizens have a say and stake in their political process, the more included and likely they are to want to participate in it. With 9 days until the next elections hopefully we can reorganise things into something more suitably interesting.

Drop me a message when yer free :3
