[Sluagh] Locked Out
Dante Boss
Citizens of the Republic,
After a successful election, we are being denied what the people voted for.
Our election had three potential outcomes - my platform was voted most popular, the path which the majority of eIrish voted for.
This is being denied to us the old administration.
I have dissolved Congress as promised, I have discarded the Constitution as promised.I am trying to do what I set out to do.
Nogin the Nog refuses to hand over the Dictatorship. She is supported by the previous administration and they are not willing to meet our demands. I have been instructed to restore Congress, the constitution and go by their means. We have also been refused access to the State Treasury. Effectively, we have been denied our right to govern as outlined by the administration we voted out.
This I will not do, this is not what I was elected to do.
I am trying to secure our nation, trying to make it a safer stronger place but am being denied this by the bureaucracy we voted against. We voted for something, and we have the right to demand it.
I am asking you the citizens of Ireland to tell these individuals to do the right thing and respect our election.
Then, will my team and I further assess the situation.
To my allies,
I apologize for our current situation, our nation is being held at ransom.. We will continue to fight for you during our internal struggle.
Thank you for our liberation - we will do right by it.
We will restore Ireland,
Sluagh.

Nice!
i sadly verify this.
we have been told that it is against their rules for us to have any other form of government than the one they prefer, even if you try to vote it out.
ilp holding Ireland back yet again.
again? any eStory i don't know?
I second this question, any glimpse into the history of this game is welcome.
itsa bit of a long read banshee, but you here ya go:

(principal still works, the numbers are slightly different though)
ILP: Incompetent and childish.
Good work comrades.
Those in power will do whatever it takes to stay there...
But let's face it, everyone expected them to do something underhanded like this. Hopefully everyone can see now that these people can't be trusted to obey the will of the people.
As for Nogin... You are acting like a child that was told to stop bullying other kids in the playground, so you decided to bully everyone harder. Everyone has learned to expect about as much maturity from you as you would from a toddler.
Grow up already.
Oh yeah, just so that it doesn't come as a surprise to everyone later on, don't expect the treasury to still be there once they hand it over. Looking at how they have handled this so far it would be really out of character.
As you were the candidate with majority of votes it means you're now in power to run a country. Hopefully everyone will recognise it and let you get things done.
This is eIreland we are talking about mate.
As far as we have seen the ILP is everything but reasonable, and the dictator they put in charge is acting like a child.
There is only so much hope you can put into people before you just give up on them.
This election wasn't against the ILP. It was against me. I understand that they endorsed me, but I am not the ILP.
It isn't the elections that we are talking about now, but the fact that Sluagh didn't even get the logins for the gov. organisations.
He can't run the country because Nogin is blocking him from doing it, and the ILP are the ones that are in full support behind her using the same flawed logic she does.
Oh, and in case you think Nogins argument that it's unconstitutional is any good, here is her disproving that same argument. (Thank Cat Boyd for this image) http://s23.postimg.org/4x8i65iu3/fdsfadsfds.png
Ok, guys its very simple - just start a Revo and remove dictatorship. If most of irish players are not agree with current situation they will fight for democracy. If you want to have a Congress you have to remove dictatorship anyway.
they didnt vote to have a congress. they voted to get rid of congress and install a functional military dictatorship.
the outgoing gov and the dictator they placed, say its illegal to replace them.
In case you missed Nogins article, she pretty much says that she will take it upon herself to get a proper CP if her demands aren't met.
And if no one wants the position now (And why would they, look at how they expect you to dance on their strings when you get it), she will appoint a cabinet by herself.
Ok, irish players dont want a congress - I understand that (i dislike congress too), but that doesnt mean dictator to be same. Elected CP should be country dictator, at least thru my eyes. Else it is MTO.
"Elected CP should be country dictator"
Try telling this to our previous Government 😛

lol, nice!
Whatever you do... i suggest you to negotiate with the previous rulers and settle in a middle ground.
Its not negotiating with terrorist. Its negotiating with the people elected by your own people... your own citizens, your own people.
Even if they are stupid, they are still your people and you have the duty to endure their childish behavior.
It is only by their way they will operate. I've tried to reason and negotiate but to no luck.
Why can't they accept what was voted for our nation to do.
"I have dissolved Congress as promised, I have discarded the Constitution as promised.I am trying to do what I set out to do"
If you were legally entitled to do it you'd be ok, but your not, that's where the issue is.
Its a problem of your own making, and you need to compromise and restore congress, constitution and realise your CP not Dictator.
So you want to restore the constitution that you so vigorously condemned? Exactly how big of a hypocrite can you be?
It may not be perfect but its still the one we have in force.
The administration supporting you had 4 months to fix it and make it 'perfect'. 4 months are enough to finish a whole semester of college, and yet somehow a full room of people couldn't make a first draft of a single document?
Now you are protecting it only because it is, right now, serving your interests. You care nothing for the people of eIreland who voted Sluagh in, you are trying to look out for yourself and your friends in the ILP.
Oh, so now it's enforced Nogin? Not during the Dictator elections that weren't too long ago.

all is not as Manichaean as you seem to say mate.
Why didn't you just run for Dictator last week instead of CP? This would have been a much easier road I think.
Because dictator does not dictate country/military policy, they protect the country from thief's, cheats and power mad CP's and in the re spare time press the buttons congress/cp tells them to press (when they follow the constitutional rules)
Because the broken constitution (That the previous administration so vehemently critiques, but still has somehow failed to change over a period of 4 months) would prevent him from doing so, and the ILP would latch onto that.
This is simply the case of people in power not wanting to let that go. They got drunk on it, and now they are scared to once again be among the people they neglected.
Oh for the love of... This was meant as a reply to James. -.-
So we elected Noggin to be Dictator last week, and Sluagh runs for CP on the basis of becoming Dictator and wins.
We nullify that election in favor of this one? I know it's probably not as efficient, but just PM eIrish citizens and get a "Y" or "N" to the question "Should Sluagh become Dictator as the situation stands?".
It would clear any mess about "mandate" and "40-someodd%" and maybe give a clearer view to whichever side has more votes.
If I had a single glimmer of hope that it would actually do anything, I would.
So far the people we are fighting against have not given me a single reason to think so. We can PM everyone, but what guarantee would we have that they would not just yell foul play when it's done, and waste even more of our time.
Already they are stopping progress. We have a cabinet ready to do it's duty, lines upon lines of text meant to be sent to foreign diplomats and presidents, funds waiting to be poured into the treasury, MUs to be supplied... There is so much work to be done and yet, in true ILP fashion, they are preventing any from happening.
"we" did not vote nogin dictator.
a congress that doesnt even exist ingame selected her.
there is no association to the voters left.
voters have just been told it is against the rules to change the system.
Sweet, Congress didn't select the Dictator it was done by referendum as per usual with votes counted by an established counting committee of representatives from the top parties.
where did this happen? lol.
how many voters did it get?
@Alpha The Dictator election was about a month ago and she serves a 3 month term
yeah but the dictator is a creature of statute. the Constitution created her and said how she should be voted in etc. when sluagh brought the mandate in of repealing the constitution it is tacit that if the constitution is repealed all posts that was created by virtue of its functions is also repealed . hence there is no ceance comhairle anymore or dictator. we dont have a dictator we have your sister locking you out of the car in the rain. or your sister telling your gf you have a collection of dolls in your room.
Which is the exact same argument I have been making, but they seem to ignore it.
v
Imagine if people voted me for Dictator, all of this wouldn't have been an issue.
You would have relinquished your Banist message for Sluagh? Based on my understanding Nogin is actively trying to work within existing expectations for a Dictatorial 3 month term.
Let's say I run a "Depose Sluagh" party for Congress next election and get a bit over 40% of the vote and have sympathies from other parties, but rather than working within the system Impeach I just demand Sluagh resign, over and over, does that make sense?
Just because my election takes place after his doesn't mean that his administration and platforms are automatically over, though it does mean that there would likely be support for taking action within the system.
OK, guys, settle your internal issues because while you are busy bickering and arguing Lithuania is surely planning to return and then I suppose your problem will be solved quite fast 🙂
On the other hand then there will be nothing left to rule and govern
Lithuania has other plans at the moment https://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Lithuania/174599
Hi dzynka...if only a normal transfer of powers had happened 🙁
You're really not getting this, are you? If you put aside the constitution (you can't, though, as an individual, you can ignore it, if you want to), you give 100% control to the dictator, as the constitution was the the thing that controlled their actions. You won the election to be CP, not dictator, whatever platform you ran on. If you were to scrap the constitution, you've won a worthless election,, as the CP has no powers under a dictatorship. On the other hand, if you formed a government and worked within the structure of congress, you'd be perfectly entitled to ask Nogin to push the relevant button.
Let's be clear here, the only way you can become dictator is to start a coup and rip Ireland apart. The choice is yours.
