[Royal Navy] So long and thanks for all the fez.

Day 781, 17:23 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by The Royal Navy

Today the Royal Navy says goodbye and good luck to one of the greatest Admirals we've had.
Admiral of the Fleet fezoj has given 5 months of his erepublik life to the improvement and expansion of the Navy. This has been 5 months well spent, as the Navy is bigger and stronger than ever.

Recently fezoj oversaw the successful defence of Heilongjiang, Hungary - the high iron fortress region of the Phoenix alliance. The Navy was fully mobilised for the first time in it's existence for this battle, this was a huge task, but fezoj and his Command team pulled it off. As a result, the UK had the 4th largest population presence on the Hungarian side of the battle. A great success when you consider our population size.

Under the command of fezoj, the Navy has reformed, changing the structure, increasing numbers through recruitment and improving communications through IRC channels.
Soon after, with the hard work fezoj and other individuals we have a more active, happier Navy, who are routinely sent on missions to defend our interests.

Here are some testimonies from his command team:

Thanks to fezoj I was given command of my first tin, the HMS thehorseltd. Throughout my time as Captain fezoj was constantly on hand to help me, give me advice and administrate the Navy hub. After a few weeks as Captain, I was offered the promotion of Commodore within the Navy. I took the position and haven't looked back. I may not be here writing to you if fezoj didn'y offer me the horse way back then. Thanks for being an awesome AotF fezoj, best of luck. I'll try to keep Napps from going crazy with his rank slides :3
Commodore Tom Morgan.

When I appointed fezoj as Admiral of the Fleet as my successor when I became MoD, a lot of people initially doubted my decision. Two and a bit months later and I believe my selection of fezoj has been fully vindicated.
Without doubt he has been the finest CO we've had, and he has overseen the largest expansion the Royal Navy has ever seen. Not only is the Navy the biggest it's ever been it's also the most efficient, which I believe is a testament to fezoj's leadership and his excellent Command team he assembled.
I have a lot to live up to taking over from him, but I know I couldn't have been given a better starting hand to play. Things won't be the same without him, and I sincerely hope he returns in some capacity sooner rather than later :3
Admiral of the Fleet R.R. Napier.

Since I first joined the navy 5 months ago, there has been one common theme in place. The worker; The architect; The genius; The Javier Mascherano. Fezoj.
When I started out as a shiny new citizen during my first days playing and attacking in single figures, I was assigned to HMS thehorseltd; where fezoj was my lieutenant. So it seemed to me that when he went up a rank, so did I - when I sideshifted into the marines; he moved into Command. When the old Marine Squads 1 and 2 were being expanded into Squads 3 and 4 also, it was a good time for me again (almost). RRNapier was in charge of the Navy, and I was a marine who was approached to be colonel (Captain now) of a new squad. Imagine my 😐 when that pesky Mr Woldy offered him the job of MoD, fezoj got promoted to Admiral and my offer was up in the ether! Few tactful negociations later, I managed to wrestle that position back; thusly grasping victoy from the jaws of defeat! (note: not really, I just decided to go along with the flow on this; and if he said no then thats what would happen. I wanted to put in an epic story somewhere and this seemed as good a place as any). Now on my current role as Atlantic Commodore, I was asked to join from Colonel by fezoj and it was a much less muted response of "meh why not" (note: this is actually true, believe it or not).
Since then my time in Navy has been having a laugh, debating command stuff from the off and trying to get a supply out past the watchful eyes of kdogg.
Possibly one of the finest people I've ever met in eRepublik and it's been a joy to have said I worked with him in the eRoyal Navy and the honour is all mine to have him back on his first rung on the command ladder posting again, ironically under me (I won't get used to this BTW).
Commodore Pensive.

fez, thanks for doing such a good job as CO, the Navy will miss you
Rear Admiral johnythefish.

fezoj, I honestly don't know what to say :B This is probably the best command I've ever been part of and im really proud to say I've worked with you 🙂 We have had our lows and an awesome high to end on - The Navy is the best its ever been and you deserve the credit. The Navy has grown massivly in activity and strength under your leadership and you have been a huge credit to the navy, Good luck fez, you deserve it :B
P.S. The Naby Will Always Love You 😉
Rear Admiral George Norfolk.

fezoj is an awesome guy, and an equally PWNsome commander. He keeps a cool head, and thinks through problems. He was the CO when I was promoted to Lt. and he okay'd my promotion to Commodore. I'm sad to see him go. I hope the best for you fezoj, and wish you luck in your future endeavors.
Commodore Othere Salvatore.

The new admiral is none other than ex AotF and ex MoD, R.R. Napier. Thanks to the stable ground on which fezoj has laid and his huge amount of experience, everyone feels he will do a fantastic job.

Thanks for reading,
Commodore Tom Morgan.
