Caros eAmigos e eCompanheiros,

A Presidência

Esteemed eFriends and eBuddies

The Portuguese government would like to clarify the situation regarding the resistance war in Andalucia.

Since the beggining the Portuguese government has contacted Colombia's officials to solve the tensions caused during the first Andalucia RW, later last month. We've presented Colombia's plan to our congress and the congress accepted to concede Andalucia and another region to Colombia. We did everything on our reach so that the process would go swiftly and in the best way possible.

The government took office on the 6th May and imediately started the talks with Colombia and the congress. The voting started on the 7th and was approved on the 8th, being the congress swift on this matter, taking only 2 days to decide the liberation of the regions so that they could be handed over to Colombia.
Right after that we contacted Colombia's government to inform about the decision and status quo.

The portuguese government asked Colombia to say whenever they wanted to open the RW but such information was never handed to us. Even after that RW being open without any kind of previous warning that would give us time to warn the MU's and population in general, the portuguese government issued an article asking not to fight for Portugal, since the region would have to be returned.

We've been, we are and we want to continue to be on Colombia's side, a country which we consider one of our main allies and a brother country.
We cherish our relations and we want to heal any misunderstanding that might have appeared, and even if we try to do things the best way possible we're aware that the language barrier and misinterpretations might always exist, resulting in some eventual minor tensions.

Nevertheless, we won't be demoved by it and we don't want to let things stay as they are, since it doesn't benefit any of our countries, nor our communities.
We want our relations to grow strong, and we wish that our understanding of each other outruns any tensions, providing that Colombia is willing to talk and solve any misunderstanding and getting past together this situation.

Adding to this misunderstanding, Spain comes and tries to take advantage, using lies in one of their articles, since there wasn't absolutely no contact between the Portuguese and Spanish governments regarding any topic related to the belligerent regions, nor there was, at any moment, any attempt of cooperation.

The Portuguese Government asks Spain to act reasonably, and refrain from mentioning Portugal alongside statements that are no less than lies, because what is said in that article regarding Portugal is undoubtedly false.

Best Regards,

The Presidency
