[MP4BestPCPCP] Cabinet and Stuff

Day 3,637, 14:06 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Mad Pauly

I've been fortunate during my term to have a great cabinet behind me, doing a lot of legwork so I can nap now and then, and I intend to keep faith with much of the same, although with a few shufflings here and there.

Prime Minister - Pannonian Nomad

Prime Minister, Vice President, General Dogsbody - call them what you may, this is the Jack of All Trades post which gives a good introduction to high office without the flak of being CP (or having the shiny buttons). Pannonian Nomad has accepted this role, having recently been on a goodwill mission to our Eastern European friends. I'm hoping he will continue this good work, building bridges between allies and friendly nations alike.

Ministry of Defence - Chaz'n'Wayne

Despite recovering from a serious crown green bowling injury, I'm keeping Chaz busy as Minister of Defence. Hopefully he'll be back in action before too long, herding the troops in the right direction. Tempted as I was to ask Dave Trenga to assist so we'd have a Chaz'n'Dave-themed MoD, I have instead asked Wayne to continue in an unofficial "enforcer" role, so he can set his Rottweilers on you if you misbehave.

Foreign Minister - mittekemuis

Since Boris Johnson is sadly unavailable to undertake a role similar to the one he purports to do in that Real Life thing, mittekemuis has happily agreed to be the silk glove to Wayne's iron fist. It's a team that worked well together this term, and I'm happy to see it continue.

Chancellor of the Exchequer - Huey George

Anyone who doesn't have Huey as Governor of the Bank of England, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Keeper of the Keys to Government really needs their head testing. Great to have you aboard once again, Huey!

Where now?

Following a turbulent month which saw the United States, Colombia, Latvia and Ireland trample all over our green fields, things are finally settling down and I'm eager for that to continue. I'd like to thank Ireland for the nicest invasion possible, and the organised way they marched south to enjoy a holiday in France while Latvia took our potato jokes in good humour and vacated the premises once agreements had been reached. The United States also departed briefly, allowing us a full Congress, and despite a couple of hiccups along the way relations between the Presidents of our two nations have been cordial since the fallout of the unfortunate MTO attempt.

Due to me not speaking Spanish and Colombia not speaking English, relations there have been a little more difficult, and it has thus been a bit slow to reach agreements with them. Still, despite the odd hiccup, we're heading in the right direction.

United States

It's been a rough ride, with that little MTO thing happening, but we've finally settled down into a nice little Training War with the colonials. I'm happy for this to continue, since it gives a lot of opportunity for medals and stuff on a regular basis. Which is nice.

Colombia

Hopefully my Google translations didn't do something nasty, like this unfortunate incident, and things will shortly settle into a second nice little Training War. They are currently in the process of releasing our final bonus region, but I hope they slow down on the attacks because hey, we don't have the firepower of say, Serbia. Or even Nigeria, really.

Latvia

The whole cause of this little spat was our involvement with Latvia's Belgium escapades. Now that's all over, I have recently had contact with their Foreign Minister, requesting a Training War with us. Now, since we already have two, I have suggested that he go away and thrash it out with the US and Colombia about replacing one of them. Either way works for me.

Allies and Friends

Without the help of our friends and allies, we would likely have been under a foreign military junta or wiped for far longer. I'd like to thank all foreign nationals who fought along our own troops during this month, and all the support from friends and allies across the world. Unless something drastic happens, I fully intend to continue with our current MPPs. I would have liked to have signed a couple more, but given the current political situation it remains impossible. Still, I hope to continue building friendships for our nation for a time when such alliances can be formed.

I will continue to deploy our allies as fairly as possible (when I remember) to give all a fair chance. Unfortunately it's not possible to please everyone all of the time, but I shall continue to try to be fair and equitable.

And Finally

It's been an honour serving my country, and had I accomplished more of what I had originally intended then I doubt I would have stood for a second term in office. I have made some controversial decisions, such as the decision to leave Orion, which should have been done long ago in my opinion, since we never really fitted there. I have come under criticism, some of which I have taken on board (the constructive stuff) and some of which I have blatantly ignored (general whining). I was never going to please everyone, and never intended to try - such is the path of folly - and I know there are some whose votes I will never garner (other PCP, for example. Oh, and hi, Wily!), but I hope for those undecided will not blindly vote along party lines, but consider carefully before pressing the shiny button.

Good luck to my competition, and may the best man (or cat) win!
