[MoFA] In case you were wondering what I was up to...
Brian Boru
Helped to organise attacks against our enemies
Along with the Croatian and French MoFAs, I have been involved in organising attacks of varying success against TWO, Serbia's resource bridge and occupation of Croatia/BiH being particular targets. The objective of this is to build ties with non-aligned anti-TWO countries as well as to cultivate an image of Ireland as a good mediator and organiser country.
Investigated the possibility of a new alliance for eIreland
Inquiries have been made as to a new alliance repeatedly. Two large meetings were held, one of which failed due to the inclusion of countries that clearly did not want to face off against TWO, whereas the second resulted in a coordinated strike against TWO. Furthermore, I was kept informed of developments from Croatia on a new alliance formed of former TWO and current anti-TWO non-aligned countries. Unfortunately, nothing noteworthy to be passed to either the Cabinet or the public has come forward as of yet. As soon as I know something solid, you guys will.
Vetting Citizenship Requests
It seems without an appointed Immigration Minister, applicants for citizenship have enjoyed themselves contacting me in large numbers to inquire about procedures etc. I've delivered the government's policy to them, i.e. before the changes no MU members, congresspeople at liberty to use their powers etc.
And of course, talking to people
The main role of the MoFA is to simply talk to people, to get the latest from the greatest. I've been doing a lot of that where possible, simply building up contacts and engaging in soft diplomacy. I've been talking with people from Canada to Chile, England to Hong Kong on what they're up to and what we're up to. Even talked to the English about the treaty renewal as they very kindly gave me updates on the vote as it progressed in the eUK Parliament.
Conclusion:
It's been a quiet set of terms, with Sweet being a man of all trades taking care of business on a lot of fronts. A special thank you to Malbehk for complaining about the lack of news, because that's just what it is, a lack of news. Hopefully we can get stuck in to some more chewy stuff next term, regardless of whether or not I'll still be Minister for Foreign Affairs!

Keep up the good work.
We may be at each others throats in the tax debate, right now. But I never question your dedication to this country. You are only arguing for what you think is right ( even if you are wrong = P ).
Thank you for the MoFA update.
I work in a commune and pay more tax than Bhane.
I don't doubt you pay more income tax than me, now. I changed from a fair wage salary earlier this year down to the minimum. But, the VAT from my tank sales far outweighs your tax contribution into our treasury.
Don't pretend like I haven't paid generously into eIreland's economy. And I'd do it all over again. We all pay in to the system. I dump my gold and massive cc taxes into our treasury, while others like pour in their time and effort to spend those funds on our MPPs and the IA/bootcamp communes.
We all pay in to the system in many ways. Don't start a pissing contest, because nobody will win.
You aren't the one paying the vat on your tank sales, the consumer(me and everyone else who buys on the market) is. No consumer means no VAT, plus I pay any profit sellers on the market make. So please stop showing disdain for people who pay more than their fair share toward the public purse.
The VAT is another cost factor that goes toward the price. The higher the VAT, the higher the price. The consumer pays the price of the good (VAT is not added to their purchase). VAT is deducted from the money received by the seller. But you're arguing semantics again It's a shared cost between both seller and consumer.
It's not semantics, just facts. No consumer equals no VAT. If I hadn't pointed that our to you, you would have continued to claim you are the Vatman of Gotham City.
seller charges vat and must pay the vat on items he sold over to the taxman in our country the buyer can reclaim the amount of vat against the vat he charged. so bhane are right your wrong its not a question of semantics its a question of tax law
Bhane is but a mere tax collector for the Government, the consumer is the person who pays the VAT and that money is NEVER considered to be the owned by Bhane at any stage. And this isn't your coutntry, the laws you refer to don't exist in this game. They don't even exist in RL Ireland for private non self-employed buyers, which is what everyone who buys on the eRep market actually is. So you are wrong on every level.
You can put your fingers in your ears and hum all you want. You clearly don't want want to talk about a tax debate. You only seem to want use false arguments to make me some sort of pariah.
I quit. You keep the high income tax, and continue favoring one group citizens over the others.
Here we go again. lol
lol doncha just love it anthony
btw Bhane, you're the one who decided to shoe-horn a tax debate into a MoFA article for no good reason.
Voted, very well written BB.
Good update! Voted and nice work!
Hi Brian, you're entirely welcome, if I ever hold another office and don't dispatch reports you're more than welcome to make pointed comments or give me a big kick up the arse. In the meantime, thanks for the update.
Meh, normally I'd say good job but there's been very little to do. Our treaty renewal negotiations are handled by the President, and that's the only major piece of diplomacy to do.
If you're MoFA next term I'll put you in the cc list on a development we're working on
Much appreciated. all I've had to do is plot, so I have plenty of practice.
And what about spanish phantom menace?
Sweet is robbing this country for one region coz of his delusions.
I mean..isn't enough Sweet humiliated every true irish by bending before brits as obeying puppy?
And after all Sweet is not able to take all leftovers brits have thrown to him like you throw a dog....
Some proofs Spanish governments give a shit about ireland?
I can't say how much I hate agreeing publicly with Victor. Definitely gonna take a few pints to get over this, but, in more polite terms, I do think he's right on most of what he said.
even i can feel your pain.....

Cork isn't a valuable region, so even a rumour that eSpain might attack is worth vacating it. Unlike the eUK, eSpain has the independent size and power to occupy us indefinitely (they wouldn't have to call on allies to stamp out organized RWs, let alone the probable epidemic of misguided nationalists starting rogue RWs).
It needs to be realized that our regions are not the treasure of eIreland. With or without them we are small and economically unattractive. Our value is in the community and intelligent leadership; leadership who know that there's more heart in taking advantage of a chance to fight for our allies, then there is in selfishly worrying about our own regions when our allies have NONE.
Ian, it may not be valuable to you, but I live there.
They're an imperial power, any country they can invade and hold with ease, they're going to attack. Look at the many countries in Europe that are simply too weak and so have their territories ruined.
No one lives there Paddy. Roll playing is not a sufficient justification to jeopardize national security.
Paddy lives there. If I speak of myself as a player, not as a character, I'll make a note of it.
Listen to Ian. He makes sense. Brian too.
Ok Paddy, PM me a detailed plan of how you wou get all our regions back and I will let you know fairly lively what it's chances of success are.
Of course, that's if you have a plan at all and aren't just complaining about someone cos they can't do something that you can't do either.
You sure you want to go back to Cork Paddy? I hear they are not in the All Ireland anymore, huehuehue
A minor aberration, Ian, soon repaired 😉
They still in d hurling, the superior of the Gaelic Games.
On a broader scale, it's the difference between those who play this as solely a game and those who see it as an extension of real life. For example, the former don't care that the UK hold NI, the latter do fervently. I doubt one side is going to convince the other.
We'll finish them off in a game of hurling as well, the true sport.
Thanks Brian. I have no complaints.
Awesome job.
