As promised we are happy to finally open Turn 4. There have been a lot of changes to the modules to try and speed up the battle/expansion process from the original lengthy unit v unit process unsuitable to a game of 40+ players to a much easier army v army strength calculation.
I strongly recommend you read the below major changes/read the gdoc before you comment your turn!

-The most important change is we’ve had to convert the unit system to a simple attack/defence/ranged specialisation, with new technologies released potentially giving you and your empire strategic buffs and bonuses. Attack units are obviously specialised in attacking regions, defensive units in defending them, and ranged to try and kill some of the enemy army before they begin hand to hand combat.
Mechanics:
Str hits 1x to Str
Str hits 0.75x to Def
Def hits 0.5x to Str
Def hits 1.1x Def
Rng hits 10 str per 1 rng, cancels out 10 str per 1 rng in battle. (Rng cancels out enemy Rng before this.)
-Your army has been refunded completely if you didn’t invade a region with them or 75% of the costs of the invading army if you did (as they were damaged). You can buy replacement troops instantly this turn as a one off which you can use as if you had trained them the prior turn. Check the gdoc for the amount refunded.
-We have removed the capacity restriction and armies are now limited only to how much you can buy (see the gdoc for prices, which get cheaper the more troops you buy per packet).
-Three tiers of technologies have been introduced (unique unit upgrades, unique buildings, cheaper unit packets). Your clan must have a lower tiered technology and the required buildings to research a higher one. Your clan can only pick one type of technology per tier to research, so choose carefully!
-As we have removed soldier tiers in favour of technology buffs we have refunded obsolete buildings (barracks & harbour) for the amount you paid for them.
Minor Changes
-Redesigned the player tab on the gdoc to make it easier to review your empire.
-Do not delete your turn if you want to change it. Just post the change and the reason below. If you delete your first comment then it will count as not moving. This is to avoid people changing their turn retrospectively from others’ moves and making it an edit race to comment last.
-Inactive players have been dissolved so only those active are still on the map.
-If you would like your colour swapped from a player removed post so in your turn.

I purchase 10 Atk for Land and 10 Attack for Sea in NR1.
I purchase 10 Atk for Land and 10 Attack for Sea in NR2.
I also build a market I in NR2.
I also purchase a t1 title.
Attack IP1 with 10 Land Atk from NR1, 10 Land Atk from Nr2. Send merchant with them.
W1 for NR1 sea atk and W79 for NR2 sea atk stuff.
I was refunded £112.50. I'll spend £70 on a 10 str unit packet and a further £40 on a 5 def unit packet, leaving £2.50 in refunds. I will use them to attack IV3 from IV4.
I have £337.50 in my Treasury and will buy a t2 castle (£100), a minor title (£50).
I will train a further 10 str units for £70 and 3 def ships for £50 in IV2.
Left with £67.50
And a Market I in IV4 -£10 🙂
Edit: Forgot all troops are instantly trained this go so I'll attack IV4 with all 20 str units.

Cancel the def ships as refunds were included in the treasury
So can you purchase one troop pack per region or what. You have confused me, especially since you are getting 3 troop packs?!?!
You can buy as many troops packets as you can afford, and then place them wherever you want.
On the spreadsheet it says:
"You may only purchase 1 'packet' each turn by default."
So what does that mean?

Why do you give up? The changes have made it easier for island kingdoms to compete.
The game looks more complicated each turn we play. I won't give up, but I'm not going to spend ages understanding the rules and every little thing.
It was like "New rules, new stuff, read", I was like "meh"...too many new things to keep up with and I'm online only on my phone (actually company's crap phone) until Sunday, it doesn't make it easier to open and browse stuff.
This is the last major change, it has entirely redone everything that required fixing. The only things that might need fixing are errors in stats, thats about it.
what are the benefits of having castle beside building walls and T3 markets?
ok, build T1 market and T1 walls in L2
produce 20 atks and 10 defs, use 15 atks together with merchant to attack ME region
it allows you to unlock certain techs/buildings
can I still build walls even though I haven't built a castle in L2?
afraid you need to build a t1 castle in that region first to unlock walls 🙁
I see, okay then, build T1 castle in L2.
Since a T2+3 castle and T3 Markets costs £350, it would take 35 turns to pay back the cost if you need to build one T3 Castle in each region for T3 Markets. So what is the point of building them?
Even with discounts and buffs that's longer than the likely age of the game.
Don't forget Kingdom techs are still incoming.
As I am going to be out of town soon I think it best if I bow out. Is it possible for me to will my assets to a player?

So are all ships now transport and attack/def/ ranged ships?
oh and are refunds on top of treasury or included in treasury, i initially thought they were already included but apples post suggests otherwise
I've just calculated mine and it seems that the refund has been included in the treasury.

Actually can I attack S with 10Atk and attack DN with 10Atk because (unless I misunderstood how the war works) that makes far more sense tactically.
I would like to build a tier one market and tier one castle in WS (60), purchase a tier 1 title (50), donate 50 to the Midlandia clan tech fund, and purchase 5 attack 1 land units and 4 defense 1 land units.
