[KHMC] Making a move on CP

Day 2,477, 01:35 Published in Australia Argentina by Nathan Aus

G'day KHMC members and fellow Aussies

There's a couple of things I want to say that for one reason or another I've been holding in for domestic peace on one hand and not to divert from the foreign affairs and military issues on the other. Now that we're down to 1 region in the Great Escape attempt with Finland that would make Steve McQueen rise from the grave, mixed with the fact that if a KnightHawk sneezed it would raise hell anyway, there's no raw prawn in taking the risk.

I've spoken with and received the feedback of a number of our members and it's clear a decision needs to be made.

When I launched the KHMC CP pre-selection nominations, I took nominations in good faith as they were given. Put clearly, every member nominated got on the ballot for members to choose from in a ballot. Callumh123 won that ballot and became our candidate for Australian President.

It has been over a week since that process was conducted and we are yet to hear from Callumh123. KHMC members have reached out to external contacts to grab his attention, yet judging by the zero communications received and nothing conveyed in the media, we are yet to hear from our candidate.

On that point, I am not criticising the process undertaken, our members or the candidate. However, we need an active campaign and this isn't cutting it to any minimum standard.

By my count it's 2-3 days until the cut off to:

a) Confirm Callumh123 as our candidate and live with it

b) Pre-select a new candidate

or

c) Endorse an existing candidate from another party

I'll deal with this, arse backwards, like most things we seem to do around here.

I know I speak for the membership when I say there is no fear of Infowar getting our support. Full stop. That being said, there are some decent candidates on the ballot that would be worthy of our support if we went for option C.

One example of such a person. Although she has been a vocal KHMC critic as part of the Government team, I know there are many in the KHMC, myself included, who might be inclined to support Molly Jo. A few reasons come to mind. She's a respectful critic, not a schemer. Molly was a neutral arbiter calming the waters over the issues with Bree. It's also comforting that as a former President, she is less likely to make a mess out of things.

If we declared the candidacy vacant, my fear is we'd run out of time to have an effective process and we'd be left without a flag bearer. That's my thought, others might have their own.

Going the first option, again with respect to our members, I think that would make us look like a joke. What's the point in being a major party unless the support given is going to be respected? It's also a waste if we have no effective competition to offer.

Honestly, I'm leaning towards ticking off on Molly and whatever wicked this way comes, such is life.

Members, friends, annoying bait salespeople, the floor is yours.

Cheers
Nath
