Title: Invaded By: idontunderstand Style: Free verse

I sit in this cold stone prison of my own free will,
serving the country I've loved my entire life.
Questionable events occur, But loyalty must remain.
The enemy arrives in numbers beyond imagination.
Thousands swarm the beaches as I mow them down.
They crawl through the rubble like rats through garbage,
fighting for lands far from their own.
They die for a cause I knew would be valiant.
Forever remembered they would be for their courage.
But I would fall, And be forgotten.
Like thousands of my brothers I shall die.

My country butchered millions.
My wife and child among them.
But their deaths would only motivate me,
I must fight for my country, or they would have died for nothing.

This cold stone prison shaking with each explosion against it.
I see my brothers in their prisons being released from this world,
in a blast of flames and heat.
A single tear shed for my comrades, but the siege continues.
My efforts will be in vain as they reach me.
But death will not be easy for me.
My honour rests with my very being.
My loyalty is as strong as my pain.
My life destroyed for my country.
But still I fight for it, to keep it safe.
The leader we serve couldn't have lied to us.
We must be doing what's right.
I would never do anything wrong.
The heavy iron door was slammed against.
Any second they would break in.
The door burst open and I raised my gun,
With a long deep breath I mutter my final words.

"Long live the Führer"
