[IFP][PP] Hail Adriatica
Ronisu
Greetings,
I come to you today to announce our excitement in seeing the possible opportunities ahead with the passage of the Referendum. As mentioned before, many of our members were concerned about the Charter changes and we do wish the Government had been more proactive in getting the word out about the merits of the Alliance. If those merits are easily found (which they are), then the Government should have had no trouble writing a few articles to give everyone access to that information, whether they be hardened veterans, retired old-fogeys, two-clickers, newbies or any other community in eIreland. With all that said, we are glad to join this Alliance and look forward to further discussion on the topic.
The most important part of this article is below, these are our new friends and brothers. Some of them have been supporting us for a long time and we them. Adriatica is a varied alliance with a wide range of Governments and systems, tax bases and resources, populations and average level. We fall somewhere in-between on most statistics, making us a good fit. We will have an opportunity to grow and benefit from membership as we help these brothers grow and benefit as well:

Come on Don, I know you're my secret sugar daddy, 😛

Good article. Maybe though instead of just focusing on what the Govt did wrong, you could also congratulate them for making it a possibility in the first place? Adriatica is not an easy alliance to get into, a lot of hard work was required. Our Govt has actually gotten Ireland into a privileged position that others would crawl over broken glass to attain. We should be honoured to be even considered for this.
I certainly appreciate that and you are right, the Government did do a significant amount of behind-the-scenes work to accomplish this. I do not believe we have focused on Government error in this article but on our new Brothers. We did have a single line about concerns, and intentionally formatted it in a way that would focus the attention at the real important part. The IFP will still likely have some words to say on our concerns, but now is the time to celebrate our new affiliation and the opportunities it will bring.

IBhoy is the smartest cowboy builder I know.
Thanks, I think.

IFP voters nearly sink a referendum on an alliance whose merits are "easily found" and it's the government's fault for not spoon feeding you better?
Ik right?
They make no sense
eIreland voted and approved the membership. Keep in mind we didn't even make up a majority of the No/Abstain and each of the three top parties had no votes. Can we leave the demeaning language at the door? This is about our friends.
HAIL ADRIATICA!
James does not get involved often, but when he does you can be damn sure he will call it straight out as he sees it. He's the wisest one of us left. He has questioned my actions in the past in the same way, and I learned that if James Keiller decides to call you out, the best thing to do is take another look at your own actions. I think you should do the same.
I think you're being a bit extreme. Many of the problems with this referendum were due to a lack of discussion. No one in the IFP was against joining, we just wanted to do it right.
There is no reason for you to attack us for trying to ensure that the citizens are informed and the democratic process is upheld.
voting against joining an alliance means you are against joining the alliance... i cannot believe I have had to actually explain that to someone.
If possible can we hash things out in other articles and feeds.
Let's try to bring this back around to Adriatica. This is a solid group of nations and a bright future.
and keiller is not extreme. he is one of, if not the most independent minded citizens we have ever had. he calls a spade a spade and doesn't suffer fools lightly. if he is weighing in against you then seriously, for your own good and for the growth of yourself as a person, just admit you made the wrong call and move on.
Just for the record, I did not vote against joining. An abstention is an abstention.
I know you abstained, I was not talking about your particular vote but you said "No one in the IFP was against joining"
I do love it when people speak to others as if they are children simply because they hold other views.
Shocker that.
Ah, gotcha. I meant that the no votes were more to do with the way things were done as opposed to the alliance itself.
the real concern left from all of this is:
what happens when you realize that the way this referendum was handled typifies the way the alliance handles issues in general?
alliances run on commitment and faith. they run on "Yes", not "we'll have to think about it..".
You were handed a Valentine's Day card guys.
You read it and said "I'll have to give this serious thought."
Then you come back 2days later and say "after careful analysis and consideration, I've determined that I am in love with you".
But the girl already knows that you do not love her because you had to think about it at all.
Or you meet a girl for the first and she proposes to you. You only know what her friends have told you about. You it absolutely no thought whatsoever and say yes immediately.
Both of these analogies are dumb.
If Adriatica can't handle a simple discussion by a small group of people in one of it's nations, then maybe it's no the big, bad alliance it was shown to be.
We've been dating Croatia for 6years...
But Bulgaria showed us a good time!
These analogies are going to from bad to worse in just a second lol
and if you'd like to learn why the eBulgarians have have been such staunch allies of Ireland for 1/2 decade, you can ask just about anybody you've been arguing with.
😃
IBhoy, you're too kind. 🙂
Rikian, if what I just said is to be considered extreme and an attack on IFP then things are tamer around here than what I remember. 😉
All I'm saying is (given what Ron says above about the merits of this alliance being obvious) I would have been more impressed if the IFP, as a leading political party, had done its own due diligence on the question. The "when in doubt, vote no" approach could have scuppered the whole thing.
There seems to be agreement that, now we are in, we should give this alliance our best shot. That's a positive.
Hail Adriatica!
It's important to note that most of the input of the IFP was simple how fast this was crammed through and how information was not presented. My opinion on the matter that it wasn't some time based opportunity. We could have had more information presented to the public but it all came to fruition in less than 48hours.
However, Ireland is now in Adriatica, so to that I say HAIL ADRIATICA.
for you personally, that may be an important note.
but everyone has their own priorities so importance is subjective.
Well I suppose, but that was what the main discussion of IFP members focused on. It's not like there's some secretive plot to destroy Ireland or engage in Serbian MTO.
Hail Adriatica!
Hail Adriatica!
Glad to see IFP is on board and is ready to put the rest behind.
Irelend needs to be a unified country to allow us to be part of a unified alliance.
In relation to game mechanics, can a trade embargo between two friendly/allied countries be a good thing? The reason I ask in this thread is that Albania and Thailand are currently embargoed.
