[IBB4CP] A Peace Bridge or a Troll Trench (Day 2233)

Day 2,233, 08:33 Published in Canada Canada by Addy Lawrence

THE MANDATE I SEEK

On January 5th, I will be supporting I-Bleed-Blue-93 of the Military Dictatorship Party in an effort to build a Bridge of Peace in eCanada that spans the Trench of Trololo that has been under construction for too long.

STATE OF THE CAMPAIGN

Opening Remarks

If your confused, I'll clarify; I'm not running anymore. I am pulling out of the race. Not only am I pulling out, I'm throwing my support behind a very viable CP candidate in IBB because the ongoing rivalry between CPF and MDP is not good for the country and preventing fine players, like IBB, from getting their shot at CP. Furthermore, it is preventing fine players like ED from having their plans and goals realized because they do not find the support and co-operation that they have earned.

On looking inward...

I don't have much time, so this note may be a little more trite than I'd like.

Some time ago, I tried to revive the Ministry of Opportunity with a set of tenets based on behaviour; don't be a dick, pay it forward, forgive and forget, and act with integrity. Despite the fact it never went mainstream, I still believed in it, and it occurred to me last night after reflecting on comments made by Muglack that I was drifting away from that set of values.

As such, not only have I decided not to run for CP on January 5th, I would like to support IBB in his bid for CP on January 5th. This decision is for a variety of reasons.

This community has provided me with a lot of engagement and entertainment over the years, I owe it more than it owes me. At the moment, it is hurting and I think I can help out. There is an ever widening divide between MDP and CPF and some have said that it has become a kind of Civil War. I have sensed it getting worse the last two months. I appreciated MDP working with me in the past, and the CPF a few terms back, and I think I have since taken that for granted. Sometimes, we have to CHOOSE to work together and work through things and I strongly feel that this is one of those times.

On why IBB is a viable candidate...

If you look at IBB's platform, he has covered off much of what I have and more. He has a greater interest than I do in Foreign Affairs as well as French language issues. Don't get me wrong, I value these things, but IBB obviously wears it on his sleeve where I don't.

IBB does not appear to have a military plan whereas I do, but I don't think I'll be able to implement it at all without the support of MDP and it is clear that the Civil War will prevent that from happening.

Resultantly, this political builder has decided to shelf his military plan and make room for the military candidate so that he can do some political building.

Besides, like ED last month, I think that all serious players of this game should get a chance to be CP; its fun and IBB is the type of player who has earned it based on the respect they have earned in the eCan community.

On a three horse race...

Another reason why I am withdrawing is to create a two horse race, or three horse, not sure if Tem is lulz or not. In any case, I want to reduce the number of legit horses and increase IBB's odds.

I mean no disrespect to Claire, its just that I do not know her enough to have earned her respect nor vice versa. She's a wildcard to me so I go with the known commodity in IBB.

Maybe Claire would do a good job, and I'd sure like to see a red-head in office for 30 days, but I think IBB is the guy, not because he's MDP but because he's the "next generation" of MDP and the old farts of MDP and CPF, like myself, need to forgive and forget and get out of the way for these guys.

On holding myself accountable for my actions...

Another reason why I am withdrawing is that I tanked like a mofo against eNL and played a relevant part in removing them from eCan. I didn't act alone, but I acted, and it was directly AGAINST an agreement that I worked on for the better part of three weeks. I did not act with integrity at all, and I think that someone in my party should have called me out and said something like "why should we support you for CP when you undermine what our party stands for?". Well, I'll be the guy who calls me out and says that CPF shouldn't be supporting behaviour like that.

On the type of opposition I'd like to see in a unified country...

I am only one person, but I do have some influence and I am a congressman and MU commander. I commit to whomever wins that I will play the game with integrity. I want a unified nation, with an opposition that RESPECTFULLY CHALLENGES leadership to engage the community. I want a government that is ACTIVE ACROSS ALL PARTIES and PARTICIPATES even when it is in the opposition, ESPECIALLY when it is in the opposition. eCanada is a small nation, and our military might is even smaller when we fight in different directions, if we ACT TOGETHER WITH INTEGRITY and focus on the battle priorities we will improve our probability of success. These are the things that I will champion within myself, my party, and my MU, in opposition to the ultimate CP winner on January 5th.

What's in the past is in the past, water under the bridge. A strong government needs a strong opposition, opposition with integrity, and I hope that CPF is a model of that in January.

Denouement...

I ask each of you to make a choice. Do you want to build a bridge of peace or do you want to dig a trench of troll? I made my choice, I'm standing down to focus on the bridge.

Good luck IBB, godspeed. I'm there if you need me.

Who's your daddy?
