[EZC]A week in the life of a soldier

Day 2,707, 02:02 Published in USA USA by MaryamQ

Hello, Soldier! Are you looking for a great MU - one where there is always something happening? Is community the only thing that can keep you going in this game? Do you like medals, cash and gold prizes, and competition with some of the top players in the eWorld? I have just the place for you!

Three months ago, I was dragged kicking and screaming into EZC by TheNorm, who obviously had been plotting this, for his own unknown evil purposes, even before he was a member of EZC himself, during the 3 years of our friendship. For months, he had been telling me it was a great MU (something I had heard from other people who had been members), that I would fit right in (and I was certainly warmly welcomed), and that I would not regret it. Although he himself made the path smoother, he has been proven to be right, and I now believe I would have been happy here even without the extra help that he gave me. Not only am I having a lot of fun in a great community, the friends who came along with me have also been warmly welcomed and are enjoying the ride, too. To give you a bit of an idea what it is like to be an EZC soldier, here is a brief overview of the week beginning on day 2694 and ending on day 2700.

Monday, 6 Apr (day 2694)
The daily briefing on the EZC forum included a congratulations to our new EZC CP/dictator, Trekker Tlumac. Although EZC is determinedly apolitical, the political (and nonpolitical) achievements of members are recognized and celebrated on a regular basis, regardless of party affiliations. Since Trekker was required to leave temporarily to take up the dictator position, TheNorm was named to replace him as 2nd commander.

The recent merger of ST6 and eUS Military was recognized, and we were prepared for some friendly damage competition. To kick off the new week, there was a kill competition announced for Tuesday (a fairly frequent occurrence, with cash rewards for the leader in each regiment), as well as gold rewards for every BH won on day 2695.

Tuesday, 7 Apr (day 2695)
WhydoIbother filled in for Deepchill in posting the daily briefing. One of the great things about EZC is the quality of the command group. Things run smoothly and practically seamlessly, no matter who may be absent, because there is always somebody ready to step in to help.

Wednesday, 8 Apr (day 2696)
DC actually rejoiced at the amount of gold he had to give out because of the number of BHs won and posted on the previous day. Aside from the great commune/supply system, our generous officers frequently give out extras, just for posting a link or a screen shot.

Thursday, 9 Apr (day 2697)
War with Cuba was announced, giving an opportunity for True Patriot medals. Communication in EZC is great, not only on the forum, but also in the shout feed and on IRC. Officers are available much of the day to update orders, and are monitoring battles to alert people to epic battles in various divisions and sometimes to easy medals – I happen to know Punk, the captain of my regiment, is awesome about that.

Friday, 10 Apr (day 269😎
Update on the war with Cuba, an announcement that “runners” are needed to help with supplies, and comments about the Blitz Pack. EZC forum and shouts are always a good place to get feedback about decisions, whether it the best use of gold for upgrades, training contracts, or where/how much it is advisable to fight. The community/culture is such that somebody is always ready to help or to offer congratulations for medals won and milestones reached. This is in addition to various training opportunities, like the EZC Guard and Advanced Military Training.

Saturday, 11 Apr (day 2699)
A mass attack for Sunday is announced, at a time that can include a large part of our international members. Extra supplies are to be available for early arrivals, and big CO to be posted for members. Training program members are offered extra gold. In addition, a surprise special event is possible after the mass attack. As if this isn’t enough, a giveaway of 50 cc is offered just for posting your donation link in the daily briefing thread for this day. It should be noted that people who post in the daily briefing threads are also eligible for random drawings with a cash prize, which I personally have won several times already.

Sunday, 12 Apr (day 2700)
This is a big day, as stated by Deepchill in the daily briefing. Like every Sunday, it is payday, always a good day for those who have done their bit to keep the communes going. There is a reminder about the mass attack, and announcement of the surprise event – the first ever EZC eWedding right after the mass attack, in which Gnilraps, a very good (although somewhat tricky) ePriest, was to unite TheNorm and MaryamQ in eMatrimony. All were invited to attend, and quite a few did.

I’ve focused on daily briefings in this review, but there are a lot of other ways EZC supports its members, both on the forum and in game. Whether it be training, supplies, support of media activities, RL topics (like the excessive snowfall some of us experienced this year) or just general fun, EZC has your back.
