[En][MoC Lithuania] 8th of March

Day 3,031, 02:49 Published in Latvia Lithuania by The Mindebuc

Hello readers, this is Lithuanian Ministry of Culture! (MoC)

Today we are launching a short introduction of an celebration which we have in 8th of March (or simply - today)
I mean - International Women's day.

Well, this special day is not so common in Western Europe or in North America, but, some countries in Asia, nearly whole Eastern Europe and few other countries across the globe one way or the other celebrates this day.
(Yellow in the map represents countries, where this celebration is not official, orange - where it is official only for women and red - where it is official celebration, map has been taken from the Lithuanian version of Wikipedia. Not sure, how correct it is.)

This day was created mostly by Socialist parties across the world in the beginning of 20th century. That's why this celebration is common in countries in and around former Soviet Union.

Mostly men gives to the women flowers, chocolate and gifts.
Giving flowers is really usual for that day in those yellow-marked countries.
For example, in Lithuania, even the police stops women and gives them a tulip.

Well, the MoC of Lithuania decided to cheer up women across the eWorld and launched a movie. Of course, in English. Here it is.

Sincerely,
The Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
