Oh Fox News here in the US is playing their yearly "Liberal War on Christmas" card and this year an anchor stated that Santa and Jesus were "white" and that anyone who doesn't like it can lump it. Well the fact that the historical St. Nicholas was born in what is now Turkey would suggest that he is either Greek or a Turk (Greece controlled the area at the time of his birth) and Jesus ( if he existed at all since there is no historical record or any archeology that proves it was born in Palestine would show that neither are caucasian as the " WASPs" at FOX "news" would like them to be.

greeks, Turkish are causasian wtf ru talkin about. also jesus your looking in the wrong branch that would be biblical archaeology.

lol St. Nicholas was either a Turk or a Greek neither of which would fit into the "Caucasian" slot that bigots here in the US like to put themselves in. Also there is no record of Jesus in the Historical record nor the Archeological record. Biblical Archeology? None there either. The Bible, no matter what some people think, is not an historical document. Did Jesus exist? I am sure there was a man named Jesus who the tales are based upon. Whether he was the Son of God is another debate that better men than me have taken up.

In the Netherlands the holiday lore says that he's from Spain but the actual one was from Turkey. If you look at where Jesus was born it would be highly unlikely that he had looked like as we refer to "caucasian". But then again, he is Gods son, so he might even have been purple (though i do think the bible would have mentioned such an odd look).

Purple would have been different for sure. The Bible does not say anywhere what Jesus looked like. From what scholars say the image that the Church used as their basis for the image of Christ is an image of Zeus. They were trying to usurp the image of the Roman/Greek gods. Just like Christmas they put in December when there is no say in the Bible when it was. Trying to co-opt the festival of Saturna. Scholars say the events in the Bible that are supposed to have happened at the time of Jesus's birth would put it in June.
