QUEENSLAND
In light of the continuing resistance wars in Queensland, I would like to highlight the dangers of fighting in ignorance. In case you have missed the announcements, shouts, orders and sundy other communications:
FIGHT FOR PERU IN QUEENSLAND
The stats of who is fighting on what side are publically available. The DoD are aware of serial offenders... Public naming and shaming is not beyond any of us in government, because, well, we're the government and petty squabbling is what we do. And, in light of the problem being Queensland, expect it to be something along the lines of the flaming pineapple of doom.
I feel better, having got that off my chest. Now, onto why we should fight for Peru, because a bunch of you are probably wondering exactly that. Well, ePeru is renting both Queensland and the NT off of us. That means they pay us a sizeable chunk of money each month and get to keep both Queemsland and Northern Territory. This is agreeable to both sides and is not something imposed on us from on high, although I know it sucks if you're from Queensland or the NT. If you truly feel strongly about it, run for Congress and make a difference. If I can do it after 2 weeks in-game, so can you!
Why does Queensland keep kicking off with resistance wars? (Ilene represses a joke about nutjob locals with guns, stupid hats and alot of alone time). Sorry, couldn't help myself. The resistance wars are being started by enemies of ePeru, while an epic war rages between South American powers. This includes a military powerhouse in eChile. By starting resistance wars in their enemy's territories eChile hopes to force ePeru's own (quite substantial) military into fighting too many battles. This is where we can come to help our friend - by fighting to keep Queensland in ePeru's hands we free up their military to kick Chile's arse so hard they'll be tasting boot polish for a week.

Well, we "lost" that one. Queensland is no longer part of ePeru. Not only does Bob Katter become Australian again, but there are a whole host of problems. Not least watching the Kiwis beat us again - check out Infowar's comment below to understand the magnitude of effort required.

The eChileans have just handed us another chance to show our true colours. A resistance war has kicked off in the NT.

I'm a little pressed for time to come up with many witticisms, but still... Public naming and shaming remains on the table. As does trial by crocodile.
You'll be crossing the Daly River on a log, with a stick just like that guy, if you are caught fighting against ePeru. So there!
DAILY ORDERS AND BATTLE ORDERS
The DoD (Department of Defence, if you were wondering) publishes daily priorities in their newspaper. This is almost always in the top rated news section. If it isn't, find the current daily priorities and vote them up.
The DoD priorities reflect what we, as a government, want to achieve. We have many allies (formal and informal) as well as friends in this game. We also belong to the NEBULA alliance. As you'll be aware, an epic battle is being fought through at the moment. Sometimes our allies need help and sometimes they don't. Some battles are vital to the ongoing effort while others are diversions. The DoD takes all of this into account when setting their priorities list.
Your military unit's (MU's) daily orders are set by the command chain, which is not necessarily part of the Australian goverment. Nominally this is unit commander, though a few other positions also have the ability to set daily orders. Regardless, the MU's daily orders may not match the DoD priorities. This may be deliberate, if the MU commander is running a different agenda. It may also be accidental, as daily orders update themselves at day change.
If your MU daily orders do not match DoD priorities, think carefully!
In some cases, the daily orders directly contradict DoD priorities. Especially when it comes to, what are on the surface stupid ideas. Like fighting against our own resistance wars.

While public shaming doesn't work if you're the "s" in Ds, I'm sure we can come up with some alternatives.
Note "doesn't work" applies for the government's perspective only. What works for you, well, I'd rather you kept that private.

At the least, if you won't work with "us", would you not work against us? There's shitloads of wars around today, why not pick up on one of them?
And yes, it is acknowledged that we need to do something under our own flag, besides bitch and compare chest hairs. At least by me, but hey... 🙂

It's not necessarily about 'selling' our resources or territories... Having ePeru around helps act like a shield against larger, more aggressive hostile nations. We get money, they get resources... And it keeps us from being wiped. Again... and again.... And Again.
It's also worth noting.. We may of taken some territories from eIndo two years ago, but we've spent the better part of the two years since being wiped off the face of the map. We only currently have any land because of diplomacy and negotiations.
ePeru doesn't *have* to rent these regions from us... They could just as easily take them by force. Considering that we, as a nation, can't fight our way out of a paper bag (particularly now w/o BS support), we're actually getting a pretty darn good deal.

In regards to RL QLDers, well I am one and yes I would love to see God's Country to be free, but I also know about alliances,treaties and more importantly strategic alliances. This is a giant community game but also one based on strategy.
The money Peru pays is not much (I have put more into the government coffers from my own pocket in the past week). But the strategic ppositioning of them being here and the international dealings it helps us with, those are priceless. And it was another great article Ilene
Everyone knows WA beats Queensland hands down for crazy whack jobs, empty spaces and big holes in the ground. A good chance of winning the "corrupt cantankerous old man" count too, but Sir Joh's reach is long...
Great article.. Unfortunately due to imbeciles smashing it on the wrong side Peru has now lost Queensland.. This is going to cause us big headaches now... Probably will tale almost 2 weeks for the to gain it back. We would have to NE NZ and lose the Serbian MPP, then NZ will have to wipe us again (very difficult to do seeing that we now have a big MPP stack).. That would take a week.. Then Peru has to NE NZ and wipe NZ again in order to take the region back again... These idiots who smashed it on the wrong side got no idea of the problems they have caused and they are doing a great disservice to this county and our allies. Basically smashing it for Australia in this case they were helping Chile and other enemy countries..

By the way, WELL DONE, ILENE. But we must have a big big problem when we have won sooo easily QLD's campaign in spite of have the newspaper of DoD. MU's captains have to set the DO's wisely and know them better.

It was pretty obvious that we would lose those regions. Peru had 5 possible RWs + 1-2 direct wars + an AS... there is not many options to keep them and Peru went to war knowing that... so...
You should possibly put in the difference between allies without MPP's and allies with MPP's, the DoD may well ask for everyone to fight for Country A, B and C but if we do not have a MPP with them then
1) you cannot actually set the battle those countries
2) it requires someone without a life to go online to update orders in the MU to a non important battle as to not conflict with others.
I think the last time the question for who should be set as priorities it took almost two days to be answered and the time before that was not even answered as it was better to peg people for doing their own thing as opposed to finding a solution

Wasn't really thinking of those just completing the daily order there (Especially younger players). I was more referring to players who totally smash is there for BH or TP damage on purpose... Especially the ones who are aware of what they are doing but don't care less.
Like, the ones who are in senate/cabinet and talking in the threads and still ignorantly do it knowing full well they are being a dick.

I got a message yesterday reminding me to fight for Peru and i did.
Sure i did the DO but no more.
I think messages should be sent out more regularly to remind people of the direction we should be fighting.
A few days ago it was as confusing as bat shit as to who we should fight.
DO showing one thing and a couple of people saying another.
Until i had firm orders i decided to just go for another Merc medal until i knew for sure who to fight for.
Cant send out to many mails! More is better if you ask me.
PMs aren't really efficient at getting things across a wide distribution. Max 30 people in a group PM...
Articles and shouts (friend box) are the quickest, easiest and best way to actually get onto the battlefield (rather than typing all day, coz mass PMs light up red like a brothel all f'ing day...).
DAMINK, if you had trouble finding the right target, but got there eventually, feel free to shout it (friends and MU box probably). It will save others the time, and be really really helpful.

There is a bigger picture here i guess your missing,
Most people log in for a short time here and not all day. Dont blame them.
Now during that time you want to communicate with the people then you post up right.
If you get your first reply nearly a day later that does not help now does it?

That's fine Damink, when I got online and saw your post and I clarified for you, as you say people log on for a short time and not all day I certainly don't log on all day.
If others were online they should of replied to you.
This was something I asked to be clarified on DoD papers a while ago now this issue of where to fight in the case of not offering MPP fights or no MPP's at all. Teaching younger players how to move and what to ask, more importantly if there is only one Aus battle that can be chosen to teach players how to get the DO without affecting the battle.
At the end of it all this is a war game and DO's are a way of the game.
