GOAL

One of the most common things we hear today is: Erep is Dying! A look at the statistics clearly tell the story of a world that is gradually loosing its population. A lot of this decline can be directly attributed to decisions made and implemented by Plato. In spite of all this, it is up to the current citizens to do what they can to try and stop this slide. In the eUS, the Department of Education plays a huge part in doing this. We are tasked with educating the masses on various aspects of the game. This also includes a duty to make sure that new citizens have the tools they need to survive in this world.

The Department of Education takes these duties seriously. We strongly believe in our ability to fully execute the tasked placed before us. However, we have to be reasonable in our expectations and put into motion a plan that is precise, concise, and executable, taking into consideration the limited resources we have. For the remainder of this term, the DoE plans to focus on five key areas: Updating our guides, updating our website, expanding the Question of the Day program, expanding the American University program, and fundraising.

GUIDES UPDATE

Creating guides which can accurately serve our education purpose is a primary responsibility of this Department, one which we have in the past done a lot to fulfill but not necessarily our best. Some of the guides the Department currently has up are outdated. We cannot be successful if we do not provide the most accurate education to our citizens. It is for this reason that we have made it a primary objective to have all guides updated by the end of this term.

In order to do this, the SoE has requested the help of an excellent and devoted citizen of the eUS, and we are glad to announce that 5am Saint aka WookyJack has accepted the offer to become Deputy Secretary of Education in charge of Guides. We wish him all the best as he works to get our system up-to-date.

WEBSITE UPDATE

The DoE website, which can be accessed at http://eusg.us/doe/ , is the most important tool we have in achieving our objective. It houses all of our programs and provide a centralized venue from which we can perform our tasks. Unfortunately it is not up-to-date at the moment, mainly due to the fact that we recently moved to the new site. In order to rectify this, Scott Coyle has agreed to make this a priority of his over the coming weeks. We wish him the best as he works to complete this task.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

Our Question of the Day program provides 500 energy (50 q5 food) rewards to those who correctly answer daily questions. Over the past week, we have seen a tremendous increase from an average of about 6 response a day to about 12 responses a day now. This is a very successful program in educating the public and we plan on promoting it rigorously throughout this term.

AMERICAN UNIVERSITY

The American University is our most important tool in contacting new citizens. It provides new citizens with an environment where they can be mentored by other citizens, and also educated in the ways of our eWorld. The American University has not been the success that we expected it to be; however, that does not mean we should give up. Instead it means we need to put in more effort into it to help our new citizens. In order to do this, the SoE asked Ace Viper to take over as the Dean of AU and the offer was accepted. We wish Ace Viper the best in this job and you can expect to see further plans for AU in the coming days.

For now, we are looking for mentors for the AU program. Please feel free to contact Ace Viper if you are interested.

FUNDRAISING

The Department of Education is funded through citizen donations, and to truly accomplish the goals we have set for ourselves, we will need a lot more funds than we currently receive. It is for this reason that the Department will be launching a series of fundraisers over the coming weeks. We kindly ask that you dig deep and provide as much as you can to help our efforts. You can always start by endorsing this article.

We thank you for taking the time to read this press release and we hope you support our efforts. We are always happy to hear from you with suggestions and we look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,
Department of Education
