[DC] The Land Of The Brave

Day 3,154, 05:17 Published in Ireland South Korea by Don Croata

Ireland, the land of brave people and soldiers. Not only in this game, but in real life too. It’s been a long time since I wrote about the country I fall in love in ‘two lifes’. One of them being real life and the other one here, in this boring, but addictive game as well. I haven’t met many people who could say they dislike Ireland. We’re just loveable for our nature I guess. Today I’d like you to read a bit more about the country I’m calling my home.

Its proud history

In real life Ireland is a country which has been struggling for ages. Ireland is a country with rich history. It has been populated by Gaelic people, invaded by Normans and opressed by Brits. Ireland survived all the dark clouds which has been coming above the emerald island. By its nature Irish people has always had fighting spirit, but also a happy, joyful and funny nature as well. This land has suffered the most under British empire, which tried to destroy all the traditions in Ireland, it’s sports, music, habits, religion and mostly its spirit. Even though British Empire has been the most powerful country in the world they always had the biggest problems in Ireland. It wasn’t that hard for them to keep opressed half of the world, but in Ireland it became their hardest task.

The most fameous rebellions such as Easter Rising in 1916. Started by Irish Citizens Army has always been inspired by only one goal - United Ireland. The Irish has been expelled from their own homes, the great hunger has been put on them by the British Crown. Ireland survived it, Ireland survived the opression and Ireland proved that they can survive anything and still wear a smile on their faces. That’s exactly one of the reasons I fall in love with them. There’s many similarities between Ireland and my own ‘real’ home.

An island of inspiration

The Irish land, beautiful as it is has always been inspiring to many artists, musicians and all the passengers and travellers. It’s no wonder that Irish culture has been rich almost as their country. The land of green, emerald island became fameous for it’s land color. Today, there are several places in Ireland which are declared as world’s heritage. Ireland is a country made of 26 counties. There are 6 more on the North part of the island, currently under the UK. We could write a big story about each and every of those counties, because all of them have something to offer.

The capital town Dublin and ‘the real capital of Ireland’ Cork are two most fameous towns. Most of you have probably heard of Kilkenny, Galway, Limerick, Waterfod and many other beautiful places. Northern Ireland, which is a part of United Ireland has Belfast and Derry as the two most fameous towns. The political climate in the whole Irish island is very complicated and it couldn’t really fit in just one article.

Probably the most fameous part of Ireland is its interior part. It’s full of beautiful sights created by nature or by the people. For many years its been a home to the IRA, Irish Republican Army. Its an army most fameous for their guerilla fighting against British Army. Their goal is/was to kick Britain out of Ireland and establish a Free Ireland. By some people its called a terrorist group as well due to numerous bomb detonations they are resposible for. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.

eHistory of Emerald island

Since Ireland has been added to the game it has been a live community mostly made of RL Irish people or its emmigrants in the United States. The Irish, crazy as they are has always produced some mad events for the game. It has always been a small country, but it has never acted like one. Ireland is probably the most influental small country in the eWorld. While its damage has never been too strong Ireland had its periods in which we could really change the outcome of the battles. Probably the most fameous tanking has been for Bulgaria against Greece after the end of EDEN.

When Ireland was added most of the efforts made in the country were made to strenghten its political parties. There’s been many internal battles for the power. The discussion has always been based on ideas and real stuff, while the special kind of trolling was always included. I have never had more laugh before I saw several Irish fighting each others in article comments. It cracks me today when I remember the long discussions between IBhoy, Padraig, Chewie, CT vs. Nith, cas and others.

After people started to leave this game Ireland has became more focused on the alliances and diplomacy in general. We’ve been members of only couple of alliances, which makes us one of the most loyal countries in the world. We’ve been a part of EDEN, Aurora and now Adriatica. Most of the countries in the world has been our allies in some stage of the game. I believe all of them will only say a nice words about Irish as allies. The land of fighting Irish has always been generous to its allies, we did some crazy stuff to help our brothers. Including Airstrikes on Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Argentina, Brazil, Greece. Once Airstrikes were added we were able to contribute much more to our alliances since we aren’t capable to come far just by doing NE’s. If Airstrikes were added sooner we would probably Airstrike the s**t out of majority of countries in the world. Our presence in the alliances maybe didn’t always had a key role in damage wise, but our representatives were often leaders of the alliances. We would always find someone to do a good job.

Ireland has been attracting foreign citizens for ages. We have had huge community of Croats in eIreland, we had huge community of Greeks who came under Libertad movement. All the immigrants in Ireland has made a massive contribution to this country, regardless of their RL nationalities. We’ve had Americans, Greeks, Koreans, Croats, Macedonians, Bulgarians, Serbs, Frenches, Albanians and all those people worked very well together. That’s the charm of Ireland, we make people like each others. Today, we’re still multicultural country made of people from numerous countries worldwide. All of them are working in favour of Ireland.

Exodus

Just like in other country (especially small ones) Ireland has faced a huge decrease of population. We’re even doing fine compared to the other small countries which once had the bigger influence. Our population might be small, but we’re doing fine in population/activity rate. It’s probably because of an active Military Unit(s) in Ireland. Today, Irish Army has most of Irish citizens and it’s our only National MU, funded by the state.

Many people has left because of the game itself, some left because of...well being in a small country is hard. You often get frustrated. But it has something special, some charm a big country could never give you. It’s a gaming experience completely different than in the big countries. In the bigger countries people need their country. In the small country such as Ireland, the state needs people. We have only 2-3 really strong tanks, they are fameous in Ireland, but even those average soldiers are also often glorified because we have a serious lack of them.

You can’t even imagine how big contribution a single individual can make in Ireland.

What the future has to offer?

The future of Ireland will depend on our new citizens. We’ve tried several babyboom projects, some of them produced several new people, but we’ve drained that pipe by a huge part. We’re turning a new page in which we’ll be accepting new Irish fighters. We’re looking for the fresh blood abroad.

Ireland needs people, soldiers, media moguls, politicians, economists and we’re giving our best to provide them a quality environment. Ireland is currently one of the safest countries in the eWorld, we’re having a Training War which has been good for our citizen’s wallets, we’ve secured ourselves great bonuses with one of the smallest pollutions in the world. I’m producing tanks here with 190% bonus, almost the same as in the United States, while our taxes are 1% work tax and 1% VAT on most of the products. Our marketplace isn’t really rigid as in the other countries and you can actually sell your products in here.

We have surrounded ourselves with strong allies and friends, but we don’t have real enemies on the other side neither. Most of the countries respects us, even those we’ve been in war with. We’re definitly not a strong country, or we can’t do too much influence alone. But if we would add 20 active people to this beautiful country I’m sure we’d be able to do wonders. We’re already doing the maximum of what we can and I really believe that with addition of few more dedicated soldiers we would be able to have the biggest fun in this game. The Irish Army is open to everyone. We’re suppling our soldiers with great amount of weapons, you can get up to 300 weapons per week if you’re IRC active soldier, some strongest tanks are receiving even 500 q7’s per week. And that’s not all, we’re very active and communicative, you’re going to love our IRC activity. It’s basicly the game you’ve been playing in the start of Erepublik.

Our Government is also planning to fund Training grounds upgrades for our citizens, which isn’t really something you see often in this game. The current Dictatorship is funding all of this with its private funds, while the taxes are mainly spent either on MPP’s or similar stuff.

The biggest advantage you’re going to have in Ireland is being able to change things. We’re always happy to include new people to the country leadership. Latest example would be Kevin Sheridan, a hard working exUS citizens who has came here and became a 2nd Commander of Irish Army, Minister of Education and Community and Party President of our biggest party in just few weeks. He’s been very productive and that’s exactly what we’re looking for. If you can contribute, you will get your chance to contribute.

Hopefully this article will make some of you consider moving to Ireland. I am very happy with the place I’m calling my home and I’d really like my home to grow, to get bigger and most of all I would be very happy to meet and have fun with new people who would feel the vibes in here. Ireland is a special place, trust me, I’ve been to many….
