[CPF] Stayin' alive

Day 2,492, 12:03 Published in Canada Canada by Dozzer_x

Salutations and greetings.

I'm getting increasingly tired of writing long articles, so I'm trying out a new style: straight to the point. I think it's the best way of handling politics in eRepublik nowadays.

In this article, I shall be talking about more things: the recent party leadership election, the CPF on the Canadian political scene, Congress business, our ATO efforts and the congressional and presidential elections.

First of all, I'd like to congratulate all people who have spent all their yesterday on eRepublik, fighting the threat coming from a little, but dangerous clique of PTO'ers. The ATO effort has been a huge success, and every party in Canada has been defended from any possible threat.

Special congratulations to DMV3 for successfully coordinating this operation! He might be irritating at times, but no statesman can become so without being irritating.

As you may know, I have been re-elected for a consecutive third term at the helm of the party, after I have won the party primary elections. I have done so especially to keep some sense of stability as we are threatened by a PTO, and I'm certain when I say that this will be my last consecutive term. And I do wish that my successor will be a young politician, because Canada needs fresh faces and the CPF can be the most successful provider of such competent youngsters.

If I learned something from my mistakes, it is that you can't do planning in the CPF. Therefore, I will not have any goals for this month but I will do the best to surprise myself and my colleagues.

The Congress caucus of the CPF has been the most active and diverse caucus. The Speaker hails from our party, and he is one of the most competent Speakers Canada had in these past few months. Our Congress caucus always presents alternative opinions, and there was never a single line in our caucus. I feel great when I see this diversity of ideas, opinions and feelings. It just proves that the CPF is indeed what it was meant to be: a party of individuals, for individuals, by individuals. All of them, even if different, united for a single goal: the progress of Canada.

Our caucus proposed this month various programs, in what concerns the economy (Dollars for Canadians scheme), the security of Canada (the Political Defence Act) and various motions that helped combat the PTO threat. In every discussion that has taken place in Congress, the members of the CPF caucus have been the most vocal.

I'm proud to say that all our actions in Congress proved once again that Canadians make no mistake when they give their confidence by voting for our party on every 25th.

Last but not least, elections. Congress and presidential. As you have got used to, the CPF under my leadership will provide a diverse list of candidates for Congress, both experienced and young, military-oriented or economy-oriented, radicals or moderates. It is my desire to keep the CPF Congress caucus as productive and diverse as possible.

My criteria for who should be on the top spots on the list are not many: they are based on the individual's past, general activity, willingness to cooperate, loyalty to Canada and degree of independent-mindedness. I shall remind everyone that the party president is the ultimate person to decide the Congress list, and that I shall use it accordingly.

I aim for the CPF to get as many votes as possible, and I'm sure we deserve to get the best result, considering our party's efforts both in the executive and the legislative.

And even if presidential elections are in 20 days, and that's a lot of time in eRepublik, I would like to express from now my desire for the CPF to have its own candidate, like it had under my past two terms as leader. I'm very proud of this achievment, and I'd like to announce officially that I feel prepared to run for the Country Presidency this election, as the candidate of not only the CPF, but any Canadian individual that agrees with my philosophy.

This is pretty much all. There were a lot of things to address, as I haven't written an article for quite some time. I hope all your questions have been answered.

Best regards,
