[CP] NoTie IV - End of Term, Norway & Medals

Dear citizens,

In the wake of the more than exciting elections currently taking place, I'm going to wrap up my governmental term. I was happy to be given this opportunity once again, more than four years into the game and two years after my first CP terms. In any case, it didn't make me take the job any more less serious and I've worked day and night to represent the Netherlands as your president. I hope the achieved progress will be continued and consistent: I surely will participate in trying that and will continue helping the eNetherlands in whatever function comes available for me in the future.

The Netherlands & Norway

The month of September 2014 will be remembered for the exciting war we had with Norway. In reply to the activity of our NSPP Allies Germany & the United Kingdom in Scandinavia, we decided to intervene and open an additional front to relieve our allies, but also to wake up from our dormancy. And a success it was. During the war we've had the highest activity since April (ironically, when we fought a war versus Norway, as well). We managed to wipe an entire country and enlarge our country in an extent it hasn't ever seen before. We signed alliances with 4 of the strongest nations, not to mention the excellent relations we've built up with our co belligerents in Scandinavia. We retreated after the campaign was done (and the one's of our allies) in an orderly matter, ensuring that Norway has a Congress in the process - we know what it's like to be denied a Congress and won't put that on someone else. Conclusion: we can be very proud of our nations this month!

Though a war should be exciting in the eRepublik Universe, it turned ugly and personal between individuals of the Netherlands & Norway. The Government strictly disapproves of such practices and wanted to distance itself from it (even if in the future we'll be fighting Norway again). That's why the governments of the Netherlands & Norway designed to sign a declaration of respect:

The peoples of Norway and the Netherlands, represented by their democratically elected governments, wish to publicly express their mutual assured respect by signing this declaration.
We, the peoples of the Netherlands and Norway regard each other as equal partners in the international community. Both nations realize that terms like 'inferiority' and 'superiority', whatever nationality they are assigned to, are outdated expressions and shall be discontinued to be used.
Each nation shall have the possibility to obtain a congress representing its people in the international community. We realize that every nation has the right to align and realign itself with any other nation which is to be respected by the international community, however, any such alignment is under no circumstances reason to pay less respect to any nation and its people.
Both nations accept and respect the current and any future alignment of our nations whether we be allies or enemies.

Should it be necessary for whatever reason to declare war on each other, Norway and the Netherlands express their will to pay respect to this declaration.

In accordance with this declaration, the Netherlands are retreating to the 'status quo ante bellum' in September.

Medals

First of all: Walhallah will be awarded this month once again, as I will award him the ''Eresabel'' medal. His leadership in the Dutch Armed Forces have transformed an almost defunct state Military Unit into a respectable force, essentially the only Dutch Military Unit to reckon with these days.


Extraordinary contribution to the Armed Forces of the eNetherlands, for at least one year, within the Dutch Army, Dutch Ministry of Defense or Alliance HQ. (Officier 1e klasse of the Willems Orde and a public Presidential statement are required.)

There will be medals coming soon for the recent Norway campaign. They are yet to be designed, but will be available soon.
