Dear citizens, Congress, Chairman of Congress and deputy Chairman of Congress,

I’m here to congratulate the Congress of the Netherlands with what happened yesterday and to explain what took place.

Yesterday, all Congress Members received the following ingame message of me.



Dear congress member,

A terrible mistake was made. The currently pending alliance with Japan should NOT be accepted. If you still have your vote left, vote NO on this proposal.

When I sent out that message, the voting (that can be found here) was at 6 YES and 1 NO. At the end of the 24 hours pending procedure, the voting ended at 8 YES and 10 NO (as can be seen via the link before).
This means that 9 congress men followed the order. Still, 2 of them didn’t, but that could be ascribed to them having voted before reading their message. In other words, the Dutch congress is active and focused and knows what it’s doing! I congratulate our 19 congress men, ElGorro (CoC) and Tkid (dCoC) with this great result!



During yesterday, I received various questions from citizens that were confused by the message, or by the fact that congress suddenly started voting against the alliance with Japan. I promised them an explanation, and that’s a simple one. Namely, the actual plan was to propose an alliance with Ireland. Japan wasn’t part of the MPP plan from the beginning and we will have to investigate their situation more before we (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and I) decide to propose a real alliance to them.

Proposing an MPP is about more than just having the opportunity to fight. To our alliances, it is important to know that we can be trusted. Signing a suspicious alliance could do much harm to us, since our international priority is to show that we can be trusted.

Ik ben hier om het Congres van Nederland te feliciteren met wat gisteren is gebeurd en om te verklaren wat er plaatsvond.

Gisteren hebben alle Congresleden het volgende bericht van mij ontvangen.

Toen ik dat bericht uitzond, stond de stemming (die hier gevonden kan worden) op 6 JA en 1 NEE. Aan het eind van de 24 uur durende stemprocedure eindigde de stemming op 8 JA en 10 NEE (zoals via de link hiervoor gezien kan worden).
Dit betekent dat 8 congresleden de order hebben opgevolgd. Alsnog hebben 2 van hen dat niet gedaan, maar dat kan eraan toegeschreven worden dat ze eerder stemden dan mijn bericht lazen. In andere woorden: het Nederlandse congres is actief en gefocust en weet waar het mee bezig is! Ik feliciteer onze 19 congresleden, ElGorro (CoC) en Tkid (CoC) met dit resultaat!



In de loop van gisteren heb ik verschillende vragen ontvangen van burgers die verward waren door het bericht, of door het feit dat het congres plotseling tegen de alliantie met Japan begon te stemmen. Ik heb hun een verklaring beloofd en dat is een simpele. Het eigenlijke plan was namelijk een alliantie met Ierland voor te stellen. Japan was geen deel van het MPP-plan van begins af aan en we zullen hun situatie beter moeten onderzoeken voor we (het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken en ik) ertoe kunnen besluiten een echte alliantie met hen voor te stellen.

Het voorstellen van een MPP draait om meer dan slechts de mogelijkheid om te vechten. Voor onze allianties is het belangrijk te weten dat we betrouwbaar zijn. Een verdachte alliantie tekenen kan ons veel schade doen, omdat onze internationale prioriteit is te laten zien dat we vertrouwd kunnen worden.
