[CP] a Blacklisted President? And more!

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,

Whew, what a presidential race it was! Gwom and I both ran for the presidency and the result was the highest voting outcome of 2018 so far! I want to thank the eNetherlands for once again putting their confidence in me for being their President. At the same time all this joyful news was disrupted by elephant in the room - the eNL Forum.

A Blacklisted President?
What happened? We had the seldom citizenship application by a foreigner (http://enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=213&t=13880) which I approved as I was happy to see someone active and strong willing to join us. Normally applications are dealt by with a google form. However as I, after two months, still didn't have access to the form (owned by Chairman of Congress Odan) I opted to send the exact same questions as on the form by eRepublik PM which I reported on the forum.

Not a real problem, you'd say, just a technically. However Chairman of Congress Odan decided to pursue a blacklisting procedure against me as I did not literally follow the Immigration Protocol. Except for the initiator of the procedure, no one voted in favour of this blacklisting and I trust upon the further judgement of Congress that this is all made much worse than it actually is. But in my opinion it's also exemplary for what I've (and others!) criticized the forum on for years: It's interpretable laws and regulations. A more well-intended Chairman of Congress could have decided that a technicality is not a ground for a crime.

I'm not saying that would necessarily be the better interpretation. The whole problem is the mere possibility of interpretations which detach the 'forum world' from the 'in-game' eRepublik world. In the forum some people are speaking openly about blacklisting a just-elected Country President while in game he just won by a big majority and therefore has the supposed mandate of the eNL Population.

For now I have proposed legislation which would avoid problems in which people don't have access to the right forms/google documents. But this is only band-aid. I explicitly publish this latest controversy (instead of hiding it in the caves of the eNetherlands forom) so people can be made aware that things do need to change and that the status quo won't do. Steps have recently been taken in that regard but we can't do it without the 'normal man' playing/2-clicking (or principally being against the forum) in eRepublik. In the end we want a system more resembling in-game eRepublik which should make it easier for these people to participate.

Fun fact: Ever since more 'reformist' factions have shown up in Congress, the Forum is suspiciously more active..

Orion Games & Supplies
Last week there was a competition between the countries of Orion all about relative improvement of weekly damage and kills. And improved we did! We comfortably became #1 and therefore earned 100.000cc! Thanks to generous supplies by the Ministry of Defence and the awesome dedication of some players we made it this far. It also gives hope for when real danger arrives in our country. We can massively improve our output for an event, let alone for when our dedication is really needed! We're yet discussing what to do with the prize money, but in any case it will flow back to those who helped us reach this position (with the exception of myself)!

In addition to the supplies specifically meant for the Orion Games, I also personally ran a trial to re-introduce a supply system in our country. For previous week, 11 citizens received 782 Q7 weapons based on a 3x Q7 payment per 25 kills with a max payment of 100 Q7 weapons. Currently it seems this amount of supplies is a bit on the high-end and expansive to maintain. The eNL Government is planning to re-introduce work on the MM for additional income and seeking what we can do with our communes. We also haven't gotten many D1/D2/D3 players enthusiastic to request food (for air warfare) or cc (for eventual packs purchase) so more promotion/guiding is needed there. Nevertheless I want to thank those who participated in the trial as it gave us hope to actually continue supplies. Expect a more permanent supply program soon!

The Goverment - with 1 new addition!
My team for March will consist of the same (''old'') trusted faces that have helped me the last few months on achieving what eNL did. With the exception of WillemTheConqueror, who will head the Ministry of Home Affairs. He, together with DemNL and other individuals, has started working on rewriting our over-bloated laws/protocols and that fits in nicely with the reformist tendencies in our countries and my governments. Therefore I invited him to the government so that all available resources/priorities are made available for this purpose.
