[CD4CP] Third times the charm

Hello eUK,
It’s that time of the month again, the time where people start announcing that they want to run for CP. As a fair few people have known for the past month and a bit, I am going to be running in February for CP. We are at an important crossroads for our future, we have left TWO and a new alliance hasn’t yet formed. Now, more than ever, it is important for the eUK to have strong and diplomatic leadership; we must be willing to change the situation that we had before and open to accept new allies. I believe that I am the right person to lead us forward into a new alliance cycle.
There are other things that we must be willing to change and accept as well. For a long time, several people have advocated a larger voice given to congress and, although the walls have been taken away from them, congress still does not have the authority that it should do. I will be working with my cabinet and advisers on ways that we can create a system whereby congress has a larger input on the decision making process. However, it must be remembered that this is not a one way street. Congress should have more responsibility but it must show that it is able to handle that responsibility as well. What is the point of giving additional powers to a congress that will laze around or use them incorrectly?
Secondly, we are in the fortunate position to be one of just 5 countries in the eWorld that have 3 weapons bonuses on its natural regions as well as 2 food bonuses. We will continue to aim for increases in these bonuses but it is important to preserve the bonuses that we already have as well. The eUK community is a very strong one when it is cornered and we will be willing to defend these with our wallets eLives as we have done in the past month. In my view, keeping what we have is a better advantage for us than going for more but if we go for more, we will go for it with full force.
Last, but definitely not least, we must remember that we are here to have fun. This is something I want to stress, we are playing a game at the end of the day and it is important to remember that fact. Although for some of us, myself included, it is much more than that, the bottom line must be that people try and have fun while they are playing this game. Something that I want to possibly test out is the new battle boosters (assuming that these make a return). Although these are expensive for individual military units to do, it would be worthwhile for a larger unit to use these for certain time strikes (no, I am not suggesting a national military here, I am suggesting a strike unit).
In the next article I will discuss foreign policy more, ministry positions and reveal part of my cabinet structure.

You can't try to create a system whereby congress have more responsibility; that's still the Country President meddling and asking non-elected players to hold sway over elected representatives. The only way to effectively grasp the measure of them is to cut them lose and let them do their thing.
If the CP has any involvement in congressional matters or attempts to implement a system pertaining to congress then they can be - rightly so - criticised for any shortcomings of that terms congress.
If congress were a separate entity then the power/blame for any issues lay at the feet of the party president and electorate. Who knows, in such circumstances people might start to really think before they vote and domestic politics might become worthwhile yet again.
I think I may have explained my point badly but you seem to have hit what I was going to explain in a later article Chaz. The whole point of what I was trying to say was that I am going to be trying to remove CP involvement within congress and get them to think for themselves rather than awaiting input on a large variety of topics.
For foreign affairs, I think the majority of people agree that CP government is the right one to have but in terms of domestic policy, I don’t mind saying to congress “okay, you can do whatever you want to do. As long as we can afford the MPPs we need then go wild”. Right now, I believe we are in a system where some members of congress are happy to take initiative but the majority of them are going to laze around and do nothing.
I want a situation whereby congress members want to take initiative and be involved, most of the time it’s CP saying x and y about foreign affairs and nothing gets changed or happens domestically. It’s going to be an experiment and we will see how well it works, if it fails then we can move back to what we have now. We don’t gain anything without taking a risk and trying something new.
You only need to show a bit of mutual respect as separately elected, representative bodies with the ability to propose distinctive laws.
You or a counterpart want a MPP, drop a message explaining why (bleeding obvious ones less so, damage whoring ones a la eUSA more so). On the flip if Mongress smash their heads into their keyboards and propose a war, then they should consult with you as to why.
My further points depend on this experiment you speak off; how long are you planning on letting this run? In my humble opinion there's a fecking good reason as to why there are bums that 'laze around and do nothing' and a wee 'Oh look we tried' type of experiment isn't going to change a lot.
You cant give congress more powers than what they already have. And as proven in recent months even when its painfully obvious that they should use those powers. Most are too scared to even use them. From my experience in congress most are too lazy to even have proper a debate.
The fact that congress cant/wont even speak to each other as a whole is a massive wall you just will never be able to climb over.
So first and foremost, Before giving congress these so called extra powers, You first need them to be able and willing to at least speak to each other first as whole unit and not just separate groups in many mass mails.
I eagerly await your foreign policy and see how much you have caught up on what seems until recently many months on basic inactivity.
I will let CD defend his manifesto and ideas himself but as far as your last line is concerned regarding activity, Count Drakula is perhaps one of the most active people I know in the country. Not only that, he's been involved with the government in the previous months as MoFA, advisor and most recently as the MoF. Also, until the demise of TWO, he had access to the channels of TWO and I think there are only a handful people in the country who are more aware of the current foreign, defense and economic situation worldwide, both in public and back door communication, than Count Drakula here.
CD himself will say his activity is very much hit and miss, only time he ever pops his head up is for a CP shot...
If CD says that, he will be lying, Wayne. For the past few months at least, he has been very active as stated in my above comment.
He's active cuz he wants a shot at CP, it's typical CD. Only becomes active when he wants a chance at the medal.
To be honest, I don't see a problem if someone is very active for 5-6 months in order to be CP.
Nor do I, I just see a distinct pattern forming...
If you think CD is the most active guy in the eUK, then it shows how out of touch with eUK you realy are.
You obviously never read my comment carefully, Frag, I clearly said "one of the most active people I know in the country.", "one of the", not "the most active". There is a difference.
NWG, this is why I am not going to make this a one way street. Congress members have historically been sheep towards what the CP and others have wanted, I would like to promote a system whereby they are not going to be sheep within domestic policy.
Foreign affairs, CP government should always be the voice of the eUK and I don’t want to change that, I want to change what happens within domestic policy. I can understand that not everyone in congress wants to get fully involved with the way that the world works but, it is something that congress members should aim to be.
There are steps we can take to incentivise activity and show people that their work has a real impact on the eWorld, and I would like to promote asking questions that make congress think about the way that domestic policy is done. People are going to want to work less if they believe that their work has little/no impact on the way that the world works.

CD is active and sensible. Those are the two qualities we need in a CP. The rest can be handled by the community as a whole.
Congress does indeed have its own powers in game, some of which are shared by the CP, and some of which are not. However, Congress and the CP do need to be able to work together, especially in the situation with changing alliances. The MPP stack will be changing, for instance, and both the CP and Congress have important roles in making that go smoothly. That being said, however, it is really up to Congress to decide whether they are going to take on their proper roles or whether they are just going to follow where they are led.

I would rather suggest to give Kravenn another round with the same team, there are some dinosaurs with experience in the current team, so I do not see why we would need to change since up to now, overall only good decisions have been made.
Congress given a larger input in the decision making process? How would that work, they have to vote on every policy a CP puts in place, they could easily prevent the countries having any MPPs at all if they wanted to. They don't need to be given more responsibilities, they just need to actually utilize the power they have and be more confident and educated rather than blindy accepting laws and stuff based on the CP's will alone.
What we really need for congress to work is 40 Kravenns
