Som initiativtagare till The Ambassadors, en nyligen startad reformativ rörelse som vill försöka skapa ett aktivare och roligare eSverige, har dagen nu kommit för mig att kandidera till Riksdagen för 10:e gången.

Under helgen som gått avslöjade jag att jag inte ämnar ställa upp för omval till ett eventuellt fjärde mandat som Riksdagens talman. Jag känner själv att tiden är inne för någon ny att ta över och vill inte stå i vägen för landets "nya ansikten". Att bli utnämnd till talman är ett ärofyllt uppdrag. Min önskan från min efterträdare är att h*n slår ett slag för att informera "allmänheten" om vad som sker i Riksdagens diskussioner. Få läser nämligen vad som skrivs i Riksdagen under de månader de själva inte blivit invalda som ledamot. Numera diskuteras sällan Riksdagens beslut eller omröstningar i Politics-delen av forumet på .se, vilket jag tycker är synd.

Men även om jag avgår som talman vill jag ändå fortsätta bidra till en mer aktiv Riksdag.

Detta kan styrkas genom min egen aktivitet i Riksdagen under mina tidigare mandatperioder. Problemet med att partierna röstar in inaktiva medlemmar är fortfarande ett stort bekymmer, det tänker jag knappast förneka. Samtidigt känner jag viss stolthet över att samtliga 3 "ambassadörer" har visat sig vara aktiva både på forum och den nya IRC-kanalen #eCongress som president Künkelbier valde att instifta halvvägs in i mandatperioden.

Förhoppningsvis kan vi också tillsätta en ny, aktiv talman inom de närmaste dagarna som kan fortsätta arbetet med att informera nya ledamöter om Riksdagens regler, samt se till att rätt personer tillhör Riksdagsgruppen på .se.

Fem snabba tips till er som inte vet vem ni skall rösta på:

1. Läs artiklarna som handlar om valet, samt "Manifest"-delen av forumet. De flesta seriösa kandidater har skrivit ett något där.

2. Ställ frågor till de kandidater som verkar vettiga. Vad har de tänkt göra under mandatperioden? Varför inte passa på att föreslå någon motion som du vill att de skall försöka driva igenom?

3. Rösta inte efter parti utan efter person. Partier vill ofta vinna valet, till vilket pris som helst. Kandidaterna vill i bästa vall göra ett gott arbete som riksdagsledamot, men i vissa fall är de inte särskilt intresserade. Försök se till att din röst gör skillnad - det är ni som röstar som väljer vilka som skall komma in.

4. Finns det kandidater ni aldrig har hört talas om tidigare? Fråga ut dem! Skicka ett pm eller två och fråga varför det kandiderar och vilka mål de hoppas kunna uppnå om de blir invalda.

5. Om valet står mellan två kandidater som du tycker lika mycket om, varav den ena började spela för mindre än ett år sedan: välj "nykomligen"! Vi behöver förnya eSverige. Även om det innebär att jag själv inte kommer in så ser jag hellre att det sker, än att jag blir invald på bekostnad av någon "yngre" som är villig att göra ett lika bra jobb.

As the initiator of The Ambassadors, a recently founded reformative movement who wishes to contribute to a more active and better eSweden, the time has come for me to candidate to Riksdagen for the 10th time.

During last weekend, I revealed that I am not going to re-run for the Speaker of the House-position(Talman). I feel that it is time for someone else to take over, and will not stand in the way of the "new faces" of Sweden. To be appointed Talman is an honourable task, and my wish for my successor is that s/he will work to inform the public of the things going on in Riksdagen. It turns out, that few people actually read what is written in Riksdagen, when they are not elected themselves. Also, the decisions and votations of Riksdagen is seldom discussed in the Politics-part of eRepublik.se, which I find a pity.

Even though I resign as Talman, I want to continually contribute to a more active Riksdag.

This is underlined by my activity in previous mandates in Riksdagen. The problem of partys electing in-active members is still of great concern, that I won't deny. Which is why I find great pride in the fact, that all 3 "Ambassadors" have shown to be active both on the forum and in the new IRC-channel, #eCongress, which President Künkelbier chose to create halfway through the mandate.

Hopefully, we'll be able to instate a new, active Talman within the next couple of days who will be able to continue to inform the new congress-members about the rules, as well as sorting the forum-rights for the new group of congress-members.

Five quick tips for those of you who do not know who to vote for:

1. Read articles concerning the election, plus the "Manifest"-part of the forum. Most of the serious candidates have taken their time to write in those places.

2. Raise questions for the candidates who seem serious. What are they going to do during the mandate? Why not try to come up with a proposal that you wish for them to vote through?

3. Don't vote according to party, but according to person. The parties will go a long way for a victory in the election, no matter the cost. The candidates unserious candidates will, in the best-case scenario, do a solid job as a member, however in certain cases they will do nothing at all and your vote will be wasted.
Be sure, that you make your vote count - the voters are the ones choosing the elected candidates in the end!

4. Are there candidates of whom you've never heard? Ask them about their intentions! Don't hesitate to send them a PM or two, asking why they candidate and what goals they want to achieve if elected.

5. If there's a close race between two candidates of equal potential, choose the newcomer! We need to re-invent eSweden. Even if it means I will not get into Congress myself, I would still prefer for you to vote for a newcomer with equal abilities.
